Re: 2018-19 Coaching Carousel

I don't know anything about them but I wonder if we would look at one of Oklahoma's coordinators. I would bet both of them will have trouble getting out of Riley's shadow until they go to another program.

What about Daboll?
I meant in championship game .. those losses are the only ones which stick forever. If we had gone 10-2 none of those losses would have mattered.

Locks developed your receivers before Gattis arrived. Amazing recruiter, but Gattis wants to call plays and he is not ready to call plays.
Not buying that. We saw the drop at other positions where other coaches came in. Our receivers were better this year. Its ok to give Locks credit for what he did while there but Gattis did an outstanding job for us.

I wished we had thrown all the money at Helfrich last year instead of hanging on talented recruiters.

Re: 2018-19 Coaching Carousel

Here are my very uninformed theories are:
1. Saban is just that difficult to work with
2. Saban is now looking for long term commitments and these coaches wouldn't give it
3. An OC is already "in-waiting" and Saban is allowing there to be a fresh start
4. Saban was never even considering Gattis or Enos as OC so they took promotions elsewhere
Thoughts?

So , would Nick kick the tires on Larry fedora? Not a conservative enough offensive philosophy?

Applewhite again?

This is pretty crazy. As long as it doesn’t screw up next year’s recruiting class, things should be fine.

Saban had plenty of time to announce Enos as OC but never did. Leads me to believe he was not going to promote him anyway.

Re: 2018-19 Coaching Carousel

I thought this offseason I would finally get some work done and now I have to constantly stay on Tidefans to get updates on the OC and assistant coach searches.

I understand how you feel. I thought the off season would be more laid back/less stressful, but right now I am as stressed as I was during the game Monday. I retired 2 years ago, but may get a part time job just to stay busy and keep my mind off football so much (because of the anxiety it creates in me). :)
