Can't believe it's been 35 years. Seems like only 10! Sheesh I'm getting old!
Couple years ago I witnessed a small private plane crash in a field right in front of me as I was driving down the road. I saw the whole thing....including how surreal the 30 seconds were as I watched it's odd behaviour before it came down. It ended up in a ditch right next to the road I was on. Luckily, the pilot, the aircraft's only occupant, scrambled out of the aircraft and ran across the road and just sat right down as the plane burst into flames. I pulled over and called 9-1-1 and by then a couple other cars had come up and stopped to check on the pilot. He was OK but I'm sure shaken up mentally.
Pretty heavy to have that happen - so many thoughts and "what-ifs" going through your head.....
