I hope he takes every [sub]urban centrist who is basically a fascist - or more or less willing to align with the right over the fear of what is to their left because mah private property - but doesn't like all the vulgarity with him and people like myself can take the dead carcass of the DNP after losing in 2020 and turn it into a true left wing party that will engage the nonvoters.

You're really going to fall for another one of these uber-rich candidates who's only running to protect their bank account and literally couldn't care any less about you or your problems?
It would mean advocating against our own self interest! But isn't that SOP for MAGA supporters!

Ugh! I will need a barf bag if we are going to see this from this character for the next two years!
I’m gonna need one for almost all of these people, the way it’s looking.

Schultz to me is a right wing, arch capitalist, elitist, I got mine let them eat cake conservative pretending to be a centrist and utilizing Madison Avenue to convince middle class suburbanites to vote against their own self interest. Ultimately this threatens to empower Trump and Pence back into the White House to the chagrin of the entire world.

i get a kick out of how this non-ideological above it all "centrism" that there are apparently so many folks in support of, always ends up being republican, pro-corporate policy (sold as "common sense" values we all share) while keeping the racism and nationalism tamped down and keeping the fundies quiet.

At this late stage of American dominance, it would almost appear that centrism and fascism only differ in how politely they dictate their terms. These "radical centrists" types are usually just folks who live at the nougaty center of the capital system and they hope they can maintain a static world that doesn't shake up their comfort. In the American political system candidates like Bloomberg and Schultz only exist to weaken the progressive left's position and assure the far-right's victory. Even in a European style >2 party system, these type of candidates exist to create a coalition government that aspires to "rein in the far right" but usually woefully fails. So some on here will try to call me out for calling him a fasc but at the end of the day there is little difference between his "nuanced centrist position™️" and just enabling the full on slip n' side into the fascist condition. Time and time again throughout the last several centuries of representative democracies the center consistently picks aligning with the right over the left. It can only happen so many times before you just have to call them for what they are. They'll throw the left a bone when times are good but when push comes to shove they're always more afraid of what is to their left than their right.

"We're not going to do anything to make this country sustain itself over the next century because you are not white"

"We're not going to do anything to make this country sustain itself over the next century because it would just be too dang cost prohibitive for us"

There is little difference except one was politically correct. You can underwrite a genocide so long as you don't "go there" on IDPol stuff.

I still consider myself more toward the Center than Left. In that I agree that a strong economy lifts all boats, but tax policy should be fair, and a progressive-minded agenda isn't mutually exclusive.

The Devil is in determining "fair" and "progressive"

So what we are saying is the future path of the US will either be one of socialism or fascism? Anybody who finds himself in the center will have to make a choice. I am sure I will not be around to see this, but I do feel sorry for my children.
