Yep. Our mantra ever since Saban arrived is we worry about ourselves, not the opponent and if we do what we are suppossed to do it will take care of itself. He has not spent one second thinking about Clemson since every second of his time is thinking about how we can get better.

I agree. Saban has to gel this coaching staff together first. Then build off of our returning strengths and shore up our weaknesses. If we can get back to having an elite defense (by Bama's standards) then we will be more than half-way there, but we have to focus on retooling these lines and getting them where we need them. They were good but not what we've had in the past.

Worked for LSU but we were guaranteed to be on their schedule. They even had the shirts to prove it.

This thread reminds me of Clemson fans. I’m sure the game film is being broken down play by play like all games, and the analysis is put in the game binder. We had a team fully capable of beating Clemson, we didn’t have a very good game plan or preparation! Nick hired an experienced staff that will prevent that type game from happening again!

Not going to "worry" about Clemson until post-SEC championship game. Until then, they are of no concern.

I don’t think the mistake was what we witnessed on 01/07. I believe that the mistake was made a year ago, and that what is currently happening is Saban’s “market correction.”

Ultimately, though, we lost this game due to the players on the field more than the staff. More pass rush and better coverage with better health could've changed that game entirely. Nobody likes blaming the players because they're not professionals but frankly some of them were not up to the standard set by their predecessors. Others were simply not available due to injuries which is not their fault but a reality nonetheless.


This turned out to be the weakest defensive staff Saban's probably ever had and he's changing that but some veteran players turned in subpar efforts and that can hardly be fully to blame on the staff.
