Get off my case Smarty Pants! Didn't Tubs go from Ole Miss to Auburn? Yesiree Bob!:biggrin2: What does from really mean?
He'd be risking his life to go back to Oxford. By chance, my wife and sisters hired his attorney to represent them in a property dispute with their brother. We were in a courtroom over there, rehearsing testimony, when he got a cell call. I could piece together who he was talking to and what was about to happen. Jay then cut the session short. When we came back, I predicted what was about to happen on the football board and got ridiculed - for a little while... :D

What 10 states don’t allow Christians to pray? If a Christian wants to say a prayer before lunch or a test, no one will stop them. Tubs don’t know what he is talking about.

Here is an article about a high school in Texas. Yes, they have Muslim prayer room but, other religious groups exist on campus as well, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes. https://religionnews.com/2017/04/17...was-a-lesson-in-religious-freedom-commentary/

I was never going to vote for Tubs anyway because he supports Trump, but man this is sad. Just another GOP trying to ride the Trump wave with no real voice of his own.

https://yellowhammernews.com/state-...n-omar-from-congress-at-algop-summer-meeting/

State Representative Tommy Hanes, a Republican from Bryant, is planning to introduce a resolution at some GOP meeting to ask our US House members to push a measure to expel Ilhan Omar.

Sadly, with two of them running for the Senate, they will probably bring it up in Washington. I wonder if they are stupid enough to actually think such a push would be successful. It takes a 2/3 vote of the House to expel a member of Congress.

Wonder what the grounds would be? Trump dislikes her (and she him) or she sees a dichotomy between loyalty to the US and Israel?

She didn’t blame the US servicemen for terrorist attacks and war crimes. She blamed foreign intervention in Islamic issues. Trumpflakes have no concept of searching for the proper context or using rational logic.

Republicans and some center-right Democrats love using servicemen as a pawn to cover for their awful foreign policy. If you just cloak our dog doo foreign policy in the flag and da twoops then most rubes in this country won’t question it.

There are a lot of people on a lot of sides like this. "Trumpflakes" don't have a monopoly on this.

Isn't Yellow Hammer News one of those astroturfed conservative leaning blogs? I like how that article wants to let you know how good of a boy Alabama Power has been. Such a good boy that no one should question their monopoly of course.

I follow them on Facebook. Yes, it is a right wing blog masquerading as a news site. They really don’t cover news like al.com does. They will have several articles a week about Doug Jones and it will get a bunch of comments from yahoos saying how liberal he is and is Shumner and Pelosi’s clone. They seem to be supporting Tubby in the Senate race. (A barn grad is one of their writers).

Other than that, they have articles about business expansions, but never about any closings. Probably wanting you to know how great the economy is doing.

I linked Yellowhammer because that is the only place I have seen the story. I guess the non-Fox News clones are trying to save the state some embarrassment.

I am torn on this. Part of me wants Brooks to introduce a motion in the House to have her expelled just to make him look like a complete idiot in front of the whole country. But the other part of me knows that will make him a hero in the state and win him a Senate seat.

Somebody like a Koch or any other right-wing billionaire of that ilk is probably bankrolling them.
Nope. Not at all.

Actually, they had majority of their backing pulled when they voiced opposition to casinos and gaming.

And as far as the resolution, I would point to what those in state government leadership clearly thought of some of the resolutions at last year's meeting - opposition to the gas tax? Clearly didn't care one bit.

Omar hits back at Alabama GOP after it approves resolution calling for her expulsion

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) on Tuesday lambasted the Alabama GOP after it approved a resolution calling for her expulsion from the House, suggesting that the party should worry about its own candidates for Congress.
"Sorry, [Alabama GOP], but this is a representative democracy," Omar tweeted. "I was elected with 78% of the vote by the people of Minnesota's 5th District, not the Alabama Republican Party."
"If you want to clean up politics, maybe don’t nominate an accused child molester as your Senate candidate," she added, an apparent reference to Republican Roy Moore's campaign for an Alabama Senate seat in 2017.

The flaw in her thinking is that the reports came out after he was nominated and were one of the reasons many Alabama conservatives stayed at home or didn't vote for him.

Roy hasn't been in the state news since he announced his run for Senate until she brought him up. That's how bad he is doing in the state right now.

It doesn't matter. The rest of the nation saw two things happen. Republicans saw Alabama stand up to a dangerous anti-American. Democrats saw Ilhan remind everyone that Alabama is so backwards and hypocritical they almost elected a pedophile to the Senate.

None of the optics on either the expulsion resolution or the rebuttal matter. It is all political theater.
