Melania Trump used to be a porn model before she hooked up with her sugar daddy. But I guess they are OK with a contributor to a health crisis living in the White House.

Tubby has a new ad out where he says God sent us Donald Trump.

Another day, another embarrassment.

A cop in Geraldine posts on Facebook he hopes Pelosi hits a roadside bomb. In his apology, he says he regrets the division in this country.

I went to his page and saw his apology post. It had dozens of replies cheering him on.

I would hope he loses his job (as I would if a cop said the same thing about Trump), but I am not holding my breath.

Hate can you you alive and make you do things that you might regret the rest of your life. Thing is, he hates someone who he doesn't even know simply because he has been told by others that she is a bad person. How foolish he, and how foolish we, that we allow others to influence our hearts so easily.

The fact that Montgomery is actively targeting and suing Birmingham over a Confederate monument shows how far this state has to go.

Lost Cause Infects Montgomery

Birmingham Mayor "“On its face, this is a city park. It’s city property. The city owns the park. The city manages the park. The city allocates resources to the park. Any city facility, a local municipality, should have its right to do what is in the best interest of this park for its citizens. This law goes against that. The city of Birmingham was founded in 1871. It did not exist during the Civil War. So, placing the statue in this park, having the statue in this park commemorating something that... we didn’t even exist. It’s hard to make that connection. I do want you all to connect this. We’re saying preserve something, we’re saying protect something that’s a slap in the face to black residents in this city, who are 74 percent of this city. In the fourth blackest city in America, you want to have a statue that’s in commemoration of relegating black people to being property and slaves. It’s offensive. It’s wrong. There shouldn’t be any amendments to this law. The question is should this law even exist.”

he wouldn't have been forced to say stuff like this if hillary hadn't suggested he was deplorable. he was left with no choice.

Wasn’t sure where to post this, didn’t think it deserved its own thread and expected a mod smack down if I put it in the barn megathread on the football board.

I liked the scene in Oh God where God had John Denver tell the televangelist (at a rally) He didn’t like him making money off His name and should go sell shoes.

I gave Tubby some thought at first but then his campaign has shown me he is a total idiot. I am voting for Sessions in the primary.

Anyone been following the Amendment One vote? It would abolish the elected state school board and have its members appointed by the governor.

I really don’t care one way or the other. It won’t really help the schools much but I don’t see it as the death of democracy if we no longer vote on them.

I just wish the ballot would say that in order for your “no” vote to count, you must name one member of the board you are so passionate to be able to vote for.

The fact that the school boards will be chosen by an ultra conservative theocrat like Kay Ivy is enough for me to vote no. This is ultimately one of those "Put prayer back into school" and stunts in which they try to find loopholes around it to make it so. It will have a severely detrimental effect on Alabama if it passes, and I guarantee you many teachers will be moving out of state and the already huge shortage of teachers will grow higher. There are already alot of county BOE's offering emergency certifications and 5th year program options as it is.

"God" is a generic Germanic term for gods and is not the Christian/Hebrew god's name...
There are several Hebrew names for God -- with YHWH (no vowels in Hebrew -- you may know it as Jehovah) being the one God chose when asked by Moses "who do I tell them sent me?" This translates to "I am" or I am who I am, I will be who I will be...and other derivative interpretations... "Being" is one of them. Hebrews would not even say Yahweh (vowels included) for they considered it sacred and to even speak it aloud was to defame Yahweh. They would say "Adonai" (Lord) whenever they encountered Yahweh in the text.
Thus endeth the lesson!

While I agree with some of your points, doing the same thing over and over hasn't help our schools so far because folks in this state continue to elect idiots to the board.
