Unless the wheels completely fall off this season for OSU (which I doubt), I see the trend for UM continuing. It's hard to see them making it to the playoffs next season. Personally I can't say I wouldn't be disappointed in that outcome.

That’s not elite— at least in my humble opinion.
Never said as much, but I just hate Husker fans claiming a “dynasty” that was made off of a bad call. Even with the player in question admits to it being the incorrect call.

Thru the year 2000, Michigan had a dominant record of 56-34-6 over OSU. The Buckeye are 16-2 against them the past 18 seasons to close the gap to 58-50-6. Both teams have losing bowl records.

For a number of years, Michigan has been
'A LEGEND IN THEIR OWN MINDS'.
They talk a good game, but...
Michigan's main fans appear to be football sportscasters.
(They are correct as often as the proverbial stopped clock.)

Elite if you compare them to The Tulanes or Temples of the world. Overrated when compared to the Alabamas or Ohio States of the world.

In my mind, they are not an elite program. And Harbaugh is not an elite coach at the college level. He was somewhat successful in the NFL but has not been able to win anything of note at the college level. Even if he *could* recruit Saban's players, I still don't think he could get Michigan into the playoffs. He is way overrated.
“I know what it takes to win. If I can sell them on what it takes to win, then we are not going to lose too many football games.” - Coach Paul Bryant and I can see Coach Nick Saban agreeing completely.

    I'm going with mostly irrelevant.
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

I consider Ohio State to be the only "Elite" team in the Big 10. Michigan-overrated!

After the Schembechler era they have been a good team but certainly not a player as in the past. May it ever be so.

Re: Michigan Football: Elite or Overrated?

On a scale of 1 to 10, with elite being 8 or higher, I put Michigan at about 6. A decent team, but not quite elite. Hairball is simply not the great coach sports media think he is. There's a lot of positive for Michigan, but it's not their head coach.
