Which presidential candidates have called for repetitions for slaves? Could you post a link to where they have done this?

not sure if there are others, but harris and castro have mentioned it in interviews.

Exclusive: Kamala Harris Calls for Decriminalization of Sex Work, Unequivocally Calls Trump a Racist and Wants Reparations (Sort of)

In an Interview With The Root, Julián Castro Calls for Reparations for Black People

Let's keep the discussion to the facts.
That’s precisely what I’m asking of you with regard to climate change proposals (e.g. waiting on actual proposals with actual pricetags before proclaiming the fall of the American economy). I thought that was made clear.

here's a crazy idea. how about all y'all republicans/conservatives who feel like you no longer have a home in the republican party and are disgusted by the direction in which it has turned but cannot abide the careening "socialism" of the democratic party direct some of your concern trolling and pearl clutching efforts towards the republicans and try to get them to function as a responsible party.
This is the political trap of appealing to centrism in today’s climate. Of all these “moderates” who want the Democrats to nominate someone like Biden, a significant proportion will ultimately cast a third party vote or hold their nose and vote for Trump anyway, because they think climate change policy will hurt their retirement, or abortion, or SCOTUS, or any number of single issues that they can use as an excuse to not vote for a moderate Democrat.

And the price of that gamble is dampening Democratic enthusiasm and turnout. Maybe there’s someone who can excite both branches. We’ll find out on the debate stage. But if there isn’t, on a purely numbers level, I think Dems need to dance with the folks they brought.

donald trump is an absolute embarrassment, but unless the democrat party stops ripping babies from their mother's womb to murder them, i will be forced to vote for him.

I did find similar articles after I made my post. It seems like they are tap dancing around the issue and seem to favor social programs over actual cash payments.

The fact that these programs (at least from actual contenders) aim to help poor people in general rather than black people specifically sorta runs counter to the outrage machine’s “slave reparation” language.

I could say that’s another example of Chicken Littling the discussion, but I’ve already reached my quota of offensive comments for the day.

I'm not sure if he'll have time. He spends the majority of his time fixated on AOC like a teenager with a crush. Seriously if you can stand the stench for a few minutes take a glance at his Twitter feed.

If Millenials are mad at congress for not addressing climate change, then they need to get off their collective arses and vote Dem in the next election because they should know damn well that Trump and his sycophants are not going to address climate change. Unfortunately they will support Sanders who cannot win, then just like 2016 will sit at home and not vote and we have a repeat of 2016.

Serious question for my blue friends here....Why are so many in the Democratic Party kowtowing to this woman?

She's been in office less than 90 days, and already "taking names" of those who don't toe her line? What?

She's also off the charts to the left. When Diane Feinstein and Charles Schumer and Nancy Pelosi are distancing themselves, you know it's extreme.

She's advocating positions that would destroy the value of every asset in the country -- pension plans, 401ks, IRAs, home values, you name it. And she's been busted several times on hypocrisy -- wearing $3,500 pantsuits while advocating for "the working people," decrying the evils of the beef industry and meat in general, but photographed noshing on a burger. Response is historically typical for Socialist and Communist dictators -- she attacks the whistle-blowers, and promises to remember them.

I honestly believe she and several like her are taking your party so far left that it's making re-election of Donald Trump is a realistic outcome.

So I'm honestly bumfuzzled. Why is the Democratic Party leadership fostering this? You have a buffoon of a Republican in the White House, and a golden opportunity to take it back. And rather than present a reasonable rational alternative (and being more reasonable and rational than Trump isn't exactly a high bar), this is the response? Really?
This sounds like the garden-variety Republican's response. The elephant, scared of the mouse in the room.

What makes a 20-something freshman congresswoman such a bugabear to members of the Party of Trump(otherwise know as the "P.O.T.", formerly the Grand Old Party)?

That's the real question.

Or is it the fact that she's asking questions that need to be asked? Steering away from Cheetoh's and the P.O.T.'s attempts to redirect toward the many Administration sideshows.

So get out and support Dems but only moderate and older generation approved Dems.

We have a literal traitor and criminal in the White House. Americans should be willing to vote for damn near anything to overturn that. If someone other than Trump is not elected then it is a failing of America. Not the dems.

It seems to me that AOC has been crowned as the Democratic voice by the shrill element of the GOP, not by the Dems themselves.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I think I see what you were driving at now. Although I don't agree that Sanders cannot win - not that he's really my first choice (I don't really have a first choice at this point).

Again, this might be true within your sphere, but in my world I see it from both sides. My more liberal friends post about her daily, literally. They love her to death - in part because she sets off the hard-core righties, but also because they love her ideas and enthusiasm.

I am not saying that climate change should not be addressed, my point was meant to say that while AOC's attitude and outspoken dialogue appeal to the millenials, they have to understand that climate change cannot be fixed in one election cycle or two. The worst that can happen as I said, is for them to get all in for Bernie and when he does not get the Dem nomination they stay away from voting for Dems in 2020. If Trump is re-eleted then the millenials can expect the Republicans to kick the climate change can furhter down the road. Just for reaching the moderate (old) and progressive (young) Dems, what would you think of a Biden/O'Rourke ticket?

I personally don't have much interest in Biden being on the ticket. But if he ends up being the nominee I will gladly vote for him over Trump.
