A few jokes I heard from pollster Frank Luntz.

Bernie Sanders is so old it takes him an hour and a half to watch 60 Minutes.

Bernie Sanders favorite painting is "The Last Supper." If you look closely, he’s the second waiter from the left.

Bernie Sanders is so old, the only time he doesn’t need to pee is when he’s actually peeing.

All three of Donald Trump’s wives are immigrants, proof that there are some jobs only an immigrant will do.

I asked Donald J. Trump what the “J” in his name was for. He said “Genius.”

KMPX, a radio station in San Francisco was a pioneer in "underground" FM radio movement. They involved their listeners in many events.

On Jan. 6, 1968, they held what they called a "grass ballot." They asked their listeners to vote for who they would like to see in national offices.

They wanted Bob Dylan as President; Paul Butterfield, Vice-President, George Harrison, US ambassador to the UN. All the members of Jefferson Airplane are elected Secretaries of Transportation and the Grateful Dead are all elected Attorneys General.

Here is a picture of the staff of KMPX from 1967. Remember when you dressed like that?
Trivia note: In the upper left hand corner of this picture you will see Dr. Johnny Fever from WKRP in Cincinnati. Yup....Howard Hesseman when he really was a radio personality long before the TV show.

Google honors the 60th anniversary of Greensboro Sit-in w/ diorama Doodle

On this day in 1960, four men began a movement of nonviolent protest against segregated businesses in Greensboro, North Carolina. To honor the sixtieth anniversary of the Greensboro Sit-in, Google is displaying an incredible diorama depicting the historic protest.

On February 1, 1960, four students sought to be served from the “whites-only” lunch counter of their local Woolworth’s department store. Upon being denied service, the group, later called the “Greensboro Four,” remained seated in the restaurant until it closed — the titular “sit-in.” With time, this nonviolent protest grew into a movement of hundreds seeking desegregation until July 25, when the restaurant fully integrated.

Leading in Black History Month, Google is honoring the anniversary of the Greensboro Sit-in with a striking diorama of the event, designed by guest artist Karen Collins. Collins is the creator of the African American Miniature Museum, a mobile showcase of other thought-provoking scenes of African American activist movements past and present.

The doodle's artist, Karen Collins of the African American Miniature Museum, said she wanted her diorama to provide hope and teach a younger generation about their history.

"Creating art honoring the Greensboro sit-in (and the Civil Rights Movement it was part of) is my way of giving back to today's generation, especially to those who are in desperate times and troubles—to lift them up and teach them about their history," Collins told Google.

Neerja Bhanot was a flight attendant September 5, 1986 on Pan Am Flight 73, which was scheduled to fly from Mumbai to the United States. Before takeoff 4 hijackers boarded the plane at Karachi airport in Pakistan and held hostage 380 passengers and 13 crew members at gun point in a 17-hour stand off. When the hijackers demanded the passports of the Americans on board, Neerja hid the passports under seat cushions, flushed them down the toilet and threw them down the trash shoot. When the situation escalated as the hijackers began shooting and detonating explosives, Neerja deployed the emergency escape doors and began frantically guiding passengers out of the plane. She was the last to remain when a hijacker grabbed her by her ponytail and shot her point blank while she was shielding 3 American children from gun fire. She died at 22 the day before her birthday.
Posthumously, she became the youngest recipient of India's highest peacetime gallantry, the Ashok Chakra Award, as well as several other accolades from the government of Pakistan and the United States.
