Glenn Greenwald taking the gloves off on Donald Trump and corporate media's infatuation with everything Russia! Aired this week on Democracy Now.
Generally speaking, I agree with you. The thing is, though, there will never be a perfect system or perfect government. Greed and corruption will always exist and there are people who will game the system no matter what system it may be. It's my opinion, and I think you will probably not agree, that we have some super gamers playing the system as hard as they can in our present administration. I honestly never realized how vulnerable we were as regards the Presidency.I also feel that politicians and the media do a terrible job of explaining socialism to the country.
Some of the comments/posts I see here do a better job.
Sales and public relations seem to take a back seat to appeasing the masses.
The blind leading the blind.
There are exceptions, thank goodness, but you have to look hard to find them.
Too money to be made in the Kool aid/narrative/sheep herding business.
nearly every conservative charlatan and huckster has linked themselves to trump. they can run wild and they know that all they have to do is to overly simplify it into a big picture view of what they are doing and explain it to him in a flattering way and he will think they are all that. and they are laughing all the way to the bankGenerally speaking, I agree with you. Oh I agree 100%.-snip-It's my opinion, and I think you will probably not agree, that we have some super gamers playing the system as hard as they can in our present administration. I honestly never realized how vulnerable we were as regards the Presidency.
you've always felt that way and then did your part helping it along.Oh I agree 100%.
Except for your last comment - I've always felt our political system was ripe for the taking.
I know you are venting and like I said....no problem.you've always felt that way and then did your part helping it along.
While the Senate majority leader of the same party repeatedly blocked resolutions about making it public.I'd just like to pause here and say imagine the Ken Starr report was delivered only to Janet Reno and then she shared it with the Whitehouse to redact whatever they wanted prior to release
i'm not venting. but hey, that's cool. it's not my job to persuade you of anything. besides, i don't think i could get big picture enough.I know you are venting and like I said....no problem.
Have you ever given any thought as to how you could persuade me to vote in a different direction this time around?
If not - that's cool.
Not everyone is a sheep.
I'd just like to pause here and say imagine the Ken Starr report was delivered only to Janet Reno and then she shared it with the Whitehouse to redact whatever they wanted prior to release
Ken Starr operated under the Independent Counsel statute, which does not exist anymore. Mueller operated as a SPECIAL counsel, which by statute includes an obligation that he provide a report directly to the AG.I'd just like to pause here and say imagine the Ken Starr report was delivered only to Janet Reno and then she shared it with the Whitehouse to redact whatever they wanted prior to release
FIFYit's only socialist when the people benefit from it.
Yeah...no one benefits from Medicare-for-all.Most people that are "against socialism" are against socialist programs that don't benefit all, but only some.
We all benefit from the roads, from fire fighters, from police, etc. Not all benefit from all social programs. That's generally the sticking point.
i just want to see the mueller report for sale at barnes and nobleKen Starr operated under the Independent Counsel statute, which does not exist anymore. Mueller operated as a SPECIAL counsel, which by statute includes an obligation that he provide a report directly to the AG.
Ironically, the independent counsel statute was passed when democrats had full control of congress and Jimmy Carter was president.
Or imagine Clinton never going under oath.I'd just like to pause here and say imagine the Ken Starr report was delivered only to Janet Reno and then she shared it with the Whitehouse to redact whatever they wanted prior to release
the man who would not only represent Hitler but would get him acquitted  said:During the first several months of the investigation, CNN viewers also heard my more nuanced, more centrist views. As a liberal Democrat who strongly supported Hillary Clinton, I had some credibility when I raised questions about the certainty with which other CNN guests had declared Trump guilty. I introduced constitutional analysis regarding the allegations of obstruction of justice, arguing that — regardless of Trump’s intentions — he could not be charged with obstruction based exclusively on exercising his constitutional authority under Article II. This includes the power to fire any member of the executive branch
