Sad.....I wonder if it was due to the construction renovations..... hope it wasn't anything nefarious....
This could be a factor. Someone could have had combustible materials stored where they shouldn't have been. I would like to think this was just an accident. If it was an accident, how would you like to be known as the guy that burned down a 760 year old building?

As dumb as that tweet is, please, let's not ruin this thread with a bunch of political crap. Plenty of other threads around here for that stuff.
This is just so sad. My wife is a huge history buff and said she had to turn the news off to prevent herself from crying. Construction originally started 856 years ago and it will never be the same again. I'm really at a lost for words.

somewhat good news, but they will not really know the extent until they get some engineers in the building to access.
