I know Thompson did not finish the season strongly, but his fall is surprising. I think Earle may be on to something. Clearly some sort of red flag has gone up.

Not sure that this is a "fall". He was projected at 4-5, and we are in the late 4th round.

Late , he was projected 4-5, but early on , after bowl season he was a second to sleeper first due to poor safety class this year.

Yeah when folks were projecting them in the 1st 2 rounds I was like “ there either is a lack of real talent at those positions or there are scouts seeing those hidden intangibles” because I couldn’t see Thompson higher than 4th and Mack higher than late 3rd.

Yep - only signing bonus guaranteed from round 5 on - you have to make the team to get paid and the team can walk away from the contract easily.
