Based on what I read locally is he's a preferred walk on. Not aware of any attitude issues. He threw to a stud receiver who was recruited by all of the B1G and is going to Purdue. His RB gained over 2000 yards and I believe is still committed to Southern Illinois (only 5'6"). Hard to say how good he really is but probably a very good scout team QB.

He has to know that he will never earn playing time in the QB room. I think that he is at Alabama to prepare for a coaching career.

So the assumption is he could probably have gone to a directional school or played at a lower level but is choosing 4 or 5 years with a front row seat to the GOAT?

Wallace Gilberry wasn't a walk on but Shula offered him after the Alabama-Mississippi Allstar Game. I think that dude was cracking heads in the League on the D Line for well over 10 years if I remember correctly.
