Let's hope he sticks ... I know they love him due to his potential of another Pistons great/home state guy in Ben Wallace:
100% agree. Hall came in as a very athletic, but raw, shot-blocker and dunker with tons of potential and he left as a less raw shot-blocker and dunker. He never developed any part of his game that would have helped him be a NBA draft pick. I loved the guy, he was one of the most exciting players we've had over the past 20 years and the story about his dad is very touchin, and I hope the NBA development league can help him reach his potential.I think the saddest part of the Johnson era is the way he failed to develop the talent of these guys. Donta is a great example of someone with nba athleticism who most likely will never reach his potential due to zero development in college.
not too bad. Gotta move them feet Mr. Hallhttps://www.nba.com/games/20190706/PORDET#/boxscore

Would be a great place for him to develop those skills with the frontcourt crew they have with Griffin and Drummond. Just noticed they picked up Markieff Morris though ...NBA likes bigs who can shoot three's. Hall shot 100% at Bama so he has that going for him.
I think he is athletic and long-armed enough to make a roster with his defensive ability and presence in the paint. He can run the court just fine; would like to see him develop some more offensive skills.
Not to be argumentative but every legit NBA big man who ever went head to head with Hall while he was at bama owned that dude offensively.NBA likes bigs who can shoot three's. Hall shot 100% at Bama so he has that going for him.

Are you referencing the joke about Donta being 1-1 from behind the arc?Not to be argumentative but every legit NBA big man who ever went head to head with Hall while he was at bama owned that dude offensively.
Thats good to hear ... he has to understand what his role is and make himself indispensable.
I could see Detroit signing him and then putting him in the G League. His defensive chops have been pretty good so far. He is limited offensively, so they would love to see him develop that part of his game. That said, if he becomes a true NBA quality defensive player, he could earn his way onto a roster as a roleplaying, defensive specialist.I did say that Hall would at the least get a look from an NBA team. I hope he makes it.
True ... he has to has to carve out a role as a specialist. The good thing is the game still utilizes roleplayers like that.I could see Detroit signing him and then putting him in the G League.
