Here’s where it goes off the rails: “Our Army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over airports, it did everything it had to do,” Trump added. “And at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, had nothing but victory. When dawn came, the star-spangled banner waved defiant.”

The weird thing is that I doubt he wrote his speech himself. Did he go off teleprompter or are his speech writers as stupid as he is?

One guy said that they were messing with him. Well, actually, he used a different verb...

The meme game has been strong today regarding the airports - I've seen some hilarious stuff.

The fact speech writers would think so little of someone doesn't say much about either them OR him.

(And isn't it standard practice or a normal person to go over his or her speech beforehand and attempt to give the appearance of being extemporaneous?

Never mind - I see I used the words "standard" and "normal" above. My bad.
My New Year's resolution for 2019 is this year I'm not going to drink anymore. I'm not going to drink any less, either.

I was married for 25 years, but if I'd killed her on the honeymoon, I'd have been out in less than 20.

    Yep.

If you think there weren't airports in 1776, you've never been to LaGuardia.
