My New Year's resolution for 2019 is this year I'm not going to drink anymore. I'm not going to drink any less, either.

I was married for 25 years, but if I'd killed her on the honeymoon, I'd have been out in less than 20.

After reading all the horrible things drinking will do to you....I gave up reading.

I liked David Brooks parting thoughts about the celebration. First, he said, this country's narrative has never been about military might, like some other regimes. It's always been about immigration, equal chances and the melting pot. (paraphrasing) This narrative is closed off to Trump, with his attacks on immigrants, so he has to find an alternative and the military is the only thing left. Second, the national parks belong to everyone, as does the national mall. The public was fenced out so high donor Republicans could usurp the public's space. (paraphrasing again) I like it...

I was in Paris last month and saw one on the Champs-Élysées. Seemed very out of place.

Now I know how the British were beaten in 1776 -- America had an airforce!!! What dimwit statement and that crap about the telestrator stopping is ridiculous. Trump just can't help himself lying all the time and again he has clearly demonstrated his lack of education and intellect.

With Trump's admiration of authoritarian regimes (Putin, Xi, Kim) he and his right wing/altrightists won't be happy until the USA is renamed Gilead and many women are in bondage as handmaidens.
