Hurts is gonna probably have 300 passing, 150 rushing and 4-5 total TDs games on average.

He'll win the Heisman if they win the Big-12.

Houston has about the average Big-12 defense. Texas, ISU, Kansas State are the only hopes to contain him.

Jalen is having a huge game but this is a Houston defense that was near the bottom last season and Houston's D won't improve with Holgorson as HC. When he was at WVU they never played defense there. We'll have to see what Jalen does in October against Les Miles Oct 5 and the Red River Shootout Oct 12.

I wish Jalen well, but he's mostly making easy throws to wide open receivers and running into wide open spaces against a putrid defense. He won't be truly tested for quite some time. That said, he made a wise choice going to OU and the defense-free Big 12.

I wondered if any of Jalen's class would rub off on his teammates. Pretty clear it hasn't.

As long as he can maintain those averages then he will be the front -runner.
What can change the dynamic is Alabama's games against Texas A&M, LSU, Auburn, and potentially Georgia, assuming all of those teams have strong years. If Tua has good games against them, leading us to wins, he will win it. It's what should have happened last year, but then he got hurt against Georgia.

Hurts is headed for approximately the same kind of year Murray had last year. But he's probably starting the year off with a lot more hype than Murray did. Everyone knows about Hurts because of his time at Alabama. They love the story. They love anything that might show up Alabama too. So he's got the media's love going for him.

Outside of Texas, what team on Oklahoma’s schedule has the capability of holding them under 50 points? UCLA? Iowa State? Heck, the cross state rival Okie State gave up 36 to Oregon State.

Jalen should have gaudy numbers if he stays healthy. And that has as much to do with teams on the schedule with defenses like a sieve as it does anything.

Does Jalen look a little slimmed down? He may be focusing on less bulk, more fluidity these days, but looks like he has shed some weight.

The Heisman is the national championship of Oklahoma... The only thing their defense is good at is keeping the starting offense in the game.
