I do wonder if Fulmer had this in mind all along. Pruitt will be a great head coach someday, but I think he's in way over his head at Tennessee. Too many factors working against him. Fulmer hired a guy they could can quickly if need be and then he takes over as interim. They win a couple of games and he's back on the sideline for the Vols. I know it's a stretch but I would put it past him.
I was thinking along the same lines as you. Fulmer brings in a guy in Pruitt who is known as an ace recruiter and an up and coming head coach candidate. Fulmer is banking on Pruitt stocking the roster with solid recruits, maybe thinking that if Pruitt flames out as coach, phatty can step in and "resurrect" the program. Maybe that was his long term plan from the get go...

I would say a tie between JP and WT. For Pruitt it has to be uncomfortable to have Fulmer looking over his shoulder. Taggart I think is simply in over his head.
UCLA is to apathetic to fire CK this quickly.
Nebraska will give SF the hometown hero longer leash.
I agree with you Tug Tide. If I could have voted for these two I would have so I had to settle for voting on Taggart.

Do Chad Morris or Kevin Sumlin deserve any consideration?

I think it’s a toss-up between Pruitt and Taggart. One aspect might be the fear that Pruitt goes to UA as DC if he’s canned, I don’t know.

My suspicion? Taggart. But we’ll see.
Good point about Chad Morris. He is terrible at Arkansas.

At age 69 Fulmer ain't headed back to the sidelines, he has all the power and money he needs as AD. If he fires Pruitt before the season is over he will promote Tee Martin as interim HC since he is already on Pruitt 's staff. Jeremy should have taken a SunBelt type HC job to get his feet wet and after a couple of years move up.

If Tee started to tank, Fulmer wont have many places to turn to...…………..not too many coaches want to be put in that situation

Pruitt will seek a way to get out of Tennessee. if the FSU job opens up..... Pruitt will go after that. Fulmer is micromanaging Pruitt and it is not helping the whole program, So I expect Pruitt to go somewhere instead of being fired.

Taggert will not make it this season. I give it two or three weeks before he is fired.

Everyone else get another year.

Just curious about this, have you heard this or is this based on the past? It wouldn't surprise me in the least if this is the case if he is micromanaging Pruitt though.

Fulmer tried to coach a kid during the practice and got dinged for that. Then you have his interviews saying things that Pruitt should be saying, etc.

That buyout for Taggert may be a bit steep for the next couple years.
Shirley you jest - Lynn Swann will be along shortly for the latest Willie T. "golden upachute" - Taggart's renowned history of falling upward will put him back in the Pac-12 and at USC by the 2020 season.

How moronic is that buyout figure for Taggart? Holy cow. That is egregious mismanagement by that Board of Trustees.
