What a great story. Sounds like Fajganbaum’s (Norwegian?) organizational skills offer hope to a myriad of diseases.

He looked more more like a linebacker than a QB.

I'd guess German/Jewish. Tree in Norwegian is just "tre," like in English. It's one of the words we take from Scandinavian Danelaw...
