Good morning and happy Monday! A handful of FBS teams are already halfway through their regular season schedules. Where does the time go?

Week 7 is going to be a huge one in the college football world, with the Red River Rivalry, Florida-LSU and other big-time games. But, before we get to this weekend, let's take a look back at some of the biggest stories from Week 6 action.

    SEC QB INJURIES

SEC quarterbacks have been brutalized this year. How much bad luck can one conference have?

The SEC is one of the toughest and most physical conferences in all of college football, but the league's quarterbacks have been taking an absolute beating so far this year. The SEC East has been particularly brutalized this year, with four teams currently playing backups.

So, what's going on? Florida was almost on its third-string quarterback on Saturday, so let's take a look at these SEC quarterback injuries:

    • Entering Week 6, Kentucky and South Carolina were already down starters. Jake Bentley injured his foot in a Week 1 loss to North Carolina and Kentucky's Terry Wilson is out for the year after suffering a knee injury in a win against Eastern Michigan.
    • Then there's Florida, which almost lost its backup for the year. After Feleipe Franks went down against Kentucky, Kyle Trask stepped in and has kept the Gators rolling. However, against Auburn on Saturday, Trask was hit low by Auburn DE Marlon Davidson, causing him to go down in pain. That prompted Dan Mullen to make some interesting comments at halftime of the game, calling on the league office to prevent such hits. Fortunately, sportsmanship won the day, as Trask finished the game and even had a moment with Davidson after the game.
    • Now let's move to the Missouri Tigers, who lost QB Kelly Bryant. The play in question certainly looked dirty, as the Troy defender reached out and grabbed Bryant's leg. No formal announcement has been made about Bryant's status, but it does not look good for his future in 2019.
    • Now, let's talk about Tennessee and QB Brian Maurer, who replaced Jarrett Guarantano. Maurer started against Georgia on Saturday, but Guarantano ended up getting some action. However, Maurer took a big hit late in the game, and when you do something like this on the sideline, that's never a good sign. Maybe don't try to hold him up? Let's get the trainers in there to do what they do. It remains to be seen what his status is for next week's game against Mississippi State.
    • Speaking of Mississippi State, they also have some quarterback issues. After Tommy Stevens was banged up earlier this season, freshman Garrett Shader stepped in. Then, he had this helicopter tackle heard 'round the world. Keytaon Thompson also remains out with an injury.

That's absolutely ridiculous, especially when you limit it to the SEC East. How do more than half of the teams already have injuries to the quarterbacks? Can they overcome them? This is going to be a huge story to watch, but at least Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa, LSU's Joe Burrow and Georgia's Jake Fromm have avoided the injury bug so far and continue to have great seasons.
