I am getting close to that. Yesterday, I thought A&M looked very good. At times!

I believe Jess had already ordained that their offensive and defensive lines were better than ours. And the way they swept down the field on their first possession just about gave me a heart attack! I later told my wife that I was getting close to taping the games and, after finding out the outcome, play the tape. That is, if we won.

As I age, I have noticed that my interest in sports in general and football in particular focuses more and more on Alabama football. I no longer watch the Carolina Panthers nor any other pro team because of the knee thing. I am 81 years old, served in the military, love my country and respect our police. I continue to be impressed by the way our players present themselves as fine young men and the positive attitude toward life instilled in them by our great coach. It is very much like what Bear Bryant did and I observed first hand during my years on the faculty.

One more thing. I am not sure Jess was right when he said their defensive line was better than ours. They might be close but I don't think better. As for the offensive line, after yesterday I would say there isn't a better one in the country. Not sure anybody else is even close. Man, where did this Barmore guy come from????

Don't know how on earth I am going to be able watch the LSU game!

I wouldn’t call it nervous more emotional. I try and keep things in perspective but sometimes with Bama football I get to invested. There are certain games I shouldn’t watch live. I probably won’t watch the LSU game live. I’ll dvr it and watch it later. I just don’t want to act like a crazy person over football.

I've been there and I know what you mean. The 2015 game against Clemson was the worst for me. I could barely keep my eyes on the TV and I felt like I was eaten up with anxiety the entire game, especially in the 2nd half. I've gotten better about this, though. Before big games I convince myself Bama is going to lose and I come to terms with that. If Bama wins, it's like I got something unexpected, and it Bama loses, it's not as painful. this is what has helped me.

I get frustrated watching yes. Sometimes I'll call out a miss assignment or a missed call...I analyze the games more now than I used to. I'm 42, I remember when I was a kid a loss was devastating. I'll admit that Clemson loss was...weird, it was as if I just shut down from disappointment and disgust because the guys just didnt look like they weren't into the game.

The only time I really remember thinking how frustrating the game was and just not watching anymore, was the Georgia national title game. I remember saying to my son, if Jalen starts the second half we arent going to win and I'm not watching this mess. Tua came out and the rest is history.

What if Alabama is down two points with two seconds to go in a championship game and needs to kick a 32 yard field goal to win? I would leave the house and come back a few minutes later to ask my wife who won.

2017 CFPCG - I had to leave the ESPN Club because I was too upset to watch it in mixed company. But I went back to my hotel room and watched from there. My wife and I watched in different rooms in the hotel. So I guess that the answer is no - I watch - but sometimes I need to watch alone.

I think that we woke up the entire hotel when this happened:

My wife cut the tv off and said "Let's go to bed" when Bama was behind...……………..t I couldn't sleep so I and watched it all the way to the end. I woke her up when Tua threw that TD, and she couldn't go back to sleep after that either. The next day at work was rough, but the UGA fans were having a worse time than me. I lived on adrenaline the whole day

Living in Georgia, I’m sure I woke the entire county with an expletive laden scream/yell when that happened!

Also, I had to turn the channel and watch the Simpsons at halftime , to calm My nervousness. This was never an issue when I attended games, I think it’s just the nervous energy with no outlet!

CNS has his 24 hr rule. We have a 1 hr rule in our house. Celebrate, commiserate, do whatever makes you feel great...But after an hour (and this is very rarely used as it was established for losses and to teach the kids...) it’s out to dinner, or on with your day...
Nope. I love it - LOVE IT - but it's just a sport I watch for entertainment and has literally zero affect on my life, win or lose.

Not anymore.

I have been so upset I quit watching, and that was in the 4th quarter of the 2001 Tennessee game. It happened one other time, during the 2009 Tennessee game. I left the room when they got into field goal range. I wasn't nervous so much as I was sick to my stomach that we had screwed around and allowed an average Tennessee team ruin our championship aspirations. So, because of that, I missed seeing the Cody Block live. After that, I haven't ever left the room and missed a critical play - good or bad - and there has been plenty more good. I was beat down entering the Nick Saban era, and that 2009 Tennessee game got me over the hump for that.

Never give up on Alabama, although I do understand taking care if you're worried about heart trouble or other health issues.

Nervous...but can't not watch. I recall several years ago....Bama vs LSU...night game in Baton Rouge so it was late..and it was close. I was watching it in the bed...wife was asleep using my chest as a pillow. Suddenly she woke up....What's wrong? What's wrong? she said. What do you mean? I replied. Your heart! Your heart's racing! LSU's about to score I said..
She rolled her eyes and went back to sleep...

The 1969 Alabama v Ole Miss was the first prime time college football game. It held the record for total offense by both teams for a long, long time. I was wearing a pair of white jeans that night but after the game the upper thigh of the pants had discoloration from rubbing my hands on my legs throughout the game.

During the Alabama v ole Miss game in 1970 my dad banned me from watching Alabama football in the house.
