I feel for the young man, a generational QB that seems like such a good guy that had to deal with one injury after another and a few cheap shots as well. Frankly, I hope he is done and just gets a big check come the draft.

Personally, I`m not concerned about whether or not he`ll play against Auburn or anybody else in an Alabama uniform. Obviously it`s one of those things you`d love to be wrong about, but I personally think that ship has sailed. I`m mostly hoping we didn`t witness the end of a brilliant career.

I am not going into detail but prepare yourself for Bama without Tua.

He will not play another down in college. I will say this. You don’t take life flight helicopter for a dislocation. I am sick at my stomach at the injury he has.

Prayers to Tua and his family.

For a hip dislocation, you absolutely do. There are blood vessel issues possible which could be life threatening, and nerve issues possible that could be career threatening.

^ This. I hope the giant majority of Bama Nation gets this to where we don't have to hear "just nail him back together for Auburn" garbage. Tua's future as a football player and his overall quality of life going forward far supersedes any Iron Bowl, CFP, Sugar Bowl or any other on-field achievement. I'd question the worth of any fan who'd say otherwise.

Tua, I love ya, and I'll never forget all the joy you gave us. Now's the time to look out for yourself, and I certainly hope this didn't affect your long-term future. [emoji173] #13

This is exactly my point. It’s not a partial dislocation. There are potentially life threatening issues. It’s not good.

I will add one thing, we're in an era where the colleges are allowed to purchase loss of future earnings insurance, or what ever the technical term is. Now, those policies are not the best things, but I know for a fact that FSU bought one for Winston for example, and I know of multi-million dollar payouts for lesser players. It seems extremely likely Tua has one. In the event his career is over, he's still likely a millionaire. That won't compensate for a full professional career, but just to give some context, it's bad and I hate it for the guy but as long as this isn't life threatening he still has a good life ahead of him even if this is career threatening.

I've been watching Bama play for over 50 years . This was the first time I have teared up for an injury since Prothro . It seemed so unnecessary and you could almost feel it coming . I don't care if he ever plays another game at Bama as long as his injury is not disabling in the future . The kid is a warrior !
Well said!!

Hello. I am a long time follower of the board pretty much since it’s inception. I have always come to the board and have absolutely thoroughly enjoyed all of the great incite and valuable precise and highly accurate information. A lot of opinions are also offered on the board to which I have enjoyed too. I tend to keep my opinions to myself which is probably why I do not actively participate on a regular basis. To add some clarity from first hand knowledge and experience. The primary clinic is the Andrew’s Clinic in Birmingham located at Saint Vincent’s Hospital near the UAB campus. Dr. Andrew’s presence is very active there even though he primarily handles a lot of his duties at the Pensacola location facility. Dr. Cain is the primary for Alabama Football and he was the gentleman with the red jacket talking with Tua before he was carted off of the field. For those that remember he is also the individual present at the championship game where CJ Mosley dislocated his hip during the game. Dr. Cain chose to reduce his hip on the field which is a very difficult procedure to conduct under ideal conditions. This arguably saved CJ Mosley’s career. The cameras cut to commercial supposedly because of all of the screaming coming from Mosley. Hip injuries like most joint trauma are very dangerous as evidenced by referencing the Bo Jackson injury which is well known and documented. Birmingham and the Andrews Clinic arguably have the very best sports medicine orthopedists in the world so Tua is in very good hands. Dr. Lemak and Dr. Andrews no longer work together with the exception of the fellowship program which is also one of the best in the world. Dr. Emblom at Andrews Saint Vincent in the past focused intensely on the hip specifically and cutting edge techniques, however the entire group is full of top notch orthopedist and the elite of the elite on there field. Injuries are a terrible thing to have to encounter and handle especially at their age but given the circumstances his support group doctors, trainers, specialists etc do not get much if any better. I suggest you keep he and his family in your thoughts and prayers and he will be in mine. Thoughts and prayers go out to Tua and his family.
