Here are the bars I remember from around 1972 to 1985. A few of those memories are a bit fuzzier than others. Some of these have been mentioned before, some not. All had something to offer. Some lasted only a few years, others a long time. In the mid to late 70's the law changed to allow bars closer to campus - that killed off many older student bars downtown, and led to many new ones on the Strip.

The smell was especially overpowering on Sunday nights which made Sunday nights even more depressing.
I believe the guy who ran Egan's when I was at UA 2006-2010 has now opened Druid City Brewery in the building next to the bakery off of 15th Street and Hackberry Lane, close to Oz Music. Probably the best beer I've ever had.
