2 c. sugar
2 c. plain flour
Sift together and set aside.
1 stick margarine
1/2 cup shortening
3 T cocoa
1 c. water
Put in pot, bring to a boil, stirring well.
Pour over flour and sugar mixture. Beat and add 2 eggs, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1/2 c. buttermilk, 1 tsp. soda. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min. Mix together icing about 5 min. before cake is done.
Icing

6 T buttermilk
3 T cocoa
1 t. vanilla
