Faith Academy is also the school Bama commitment Gerald West attends, not that this will affect him or UA. Just another interesting tidbit. Faith Academy is moving from AISA to AHSAA competition when the '08 school year begins.

Riley said some coaches felt former Davidson defensive back Gerald West, a University of Alabama commitment who recently transferred to Faith Academy, had been recruited. Those allegations are untrue, according to Riley.

"That's not what happened, in terms of recruiting," he said. "He had chosen to transfer. As to him being tampered with, I have no evidence of that at all."

Officials at Theodore also had issues with Faith Academy's alleged actions.

"We turned them in for things we thought were not correct and inconsistent with the rules of the association," said Theodore coach Bill Meredith. "We've never had a problem with Faith and all the sudden, now, we're having a problem with them in every school.

I used to coach in Mobile against Faith Academy...it was well known among coaches that they had some questionable practices going on. It involved players and practicing year round which was not legal then. We just overlooked them and beat them anyway.
