Saw Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, and Bob Dylan at The Wharf Amphitheatre in Orange Beach Friday night. The sound was great, but as usual, too much new stuff, and not enough I am familiar with, and my personal favorites left out. Even Dylan's classics are almost unrecognizable. "That was Watchtower? Really?"

My favorite recording of Watchtower is done by Dave Mason. Think I will go dig that album out and play it.

I saw Dylan about 3 years ago in ATL. Most of the songs he sang sounded pretty much the same. Couldn't really make out many actual words or the melody.

Merle Haggard opened for him and was very good. Made the outing worthwhile.

A.C. Newman - Get Guilty
Third Eye Blind - Ursa Major

The new 3EB takes some getting used to, it's completely different than their old stuff. It has piano and horns, which I like, I'm just not accustomed to hearing it from 3EB.

A.C. Newman is great stuff. I highly, highly recommend it for anyone looking for something new and fresh. Their in the same vein as The Shins, only way better. If you only listen to one track on the album, listen to "Prophets" And anyone who does listen, I'd love to hear opinions.

Rose of Cimarron - Poco. One of my favorites. Kind of hard to get a hold of, though. Anybody else familiar with it?

Well, I've found you've got to stick with what works. I've not found much music lately that stirs my interest.

Currently:

This Conversation is Ending Starting Right Now - Knapsack
Clarity - Jimmy Eat World
Operation Sit Chair - Plate Six
Survival is for Cowards - The Casket Lottery
This is My Truth Tell Me Yours - Manic Street Preachers

Still have that P6 record, and the Csket Lottery was always great. JEW got old after I graduated, though...
