Re: 2006 TV Schedule

Looking at the schedules of all the SEC teams, I can see BAMA on PPV or no TV 5 games this fall. I thought the SEC TV contract only allowed a team to be on PPV 2 times each season. If that is true, we could have 3 non-televised games.

Hawaii PPV (Ark-USC ESPN, BAMA-Wash St. ESPN 2, no JP or CBS game)

Vandy PPV (USC-UGA ESPN, LSU-Arizona ESPN2, & Barn-Miss St JP, No CBS game)

UL Monroe PPV (LSU-Auburn & UT-UF CBS, KY-Ole Miss ESPN, Vandy-Ark JP

Arkansas CBS

Florida CBS

Duke PPV (UF-LSU CBS, UGA-Tenn ESPN, Barn-Ark ESPN2, USC-KY JP)

Ole Miss ESPN

Tenn CBS

FIU PPV (UF-UGA CBS, Barn-Ole Miss ESPN, SC-Tenn ESPN2, Miss St.-KY JP)

Miss St. JP (LSU-TN CBS, Ark-SC ESPN, UGA-KY ESPN2)

LSU CBS

Barn CBS

Re: Bama on PPV or No TV 5 times in 2006?

I would find it hard to believe that we won't be televised one way or another even once, let alone 5 times. If we don't make it on t.v. for even one game I'm going to be super ticked, seeing as I probably won't be able to make it to any games in person this year.

It also mentions the Bama/Hawaii game as a likely PPV game. But it only talks about PPV on Hawaii's cable network. Hopefull it will be a PPV game here also.

I don't see Hawaii sending a crew to Tuscaloosa to produce a PPV broadcast. If there is a PPV broadcast, it will be our production.

ESPN2 may do early evening and late evening games in some cases. I could see a game such as Vandy or Duke at 8 PM.

And "they" have said that Hawaii could be a JP game, but Mal doesn't want it early in the day.....

While I have not seen the contract and have no firsthand info, I think there is some element of truth to what you say; however, I think the details are somewhat different. I believe that the deal is that teams are limited as to time slot for PPV games. The limit is to prevent teams from putting PPV games opposite the SEC games that are shown in one of the contracted network time slots. Perhaps a given school may schedule one or perhaps even two PPV games at any time they so choose; however, beyond that, they are forced to show them during times that they do not step on the contract slots.

Well I can tell you that the Vandy game willNOT be on LF at 11:30am, it has already been released that the Auburn at MSU game is set for 11:30am on LF. On the 16th CBS will have a double header.
at 2:30 LSU at Auburn AND 6:00 Flordia at UT.
LF does not have to have a game on Sept 2nd. It's contract calls just 12 weeks of games.
