2007 Outlook?

Arkansas: with last years meltdown and Mitch Mustain up in the air, Bama will be a clear favorite to win. However, the piggies always play Bama tough and get very physical, especially with McFadden in the game. Again, CNS will have the Tide ready to play Arky just as physically, if not more. Add to that the memories of last years loss, and I think the Tide will send the piggies home roasted.

If we can't shore up that front seven, McFadden will stomp a mudhole in their butts in the first half, then walk it dry in the second.

I think that we'll be either 8-5 or 9-4 at best. We will have some problems defensively because of our well-known weakeness in the front 7 and I think teams will concentrate on trying to run the ball against us. Arkansas is definitely a game that we can lose because of McFadden and Jones being their very good running backs. Offensively, who knows how our O-line will gel together. I am in no way knocking on the credentials of our coaches, but it make take more than a season in order for our line to be able to block like we would like them to do consistently.

I definitely feel like Coach Saban is the man to do the job. But it ain't going to work overnight either.

In Saban We Trust!

I watched the Bama vs. Barn game from 06 the other night. I couldn't believe how bad Auburn played in that game. Bama outplayed them in almost every area except OL and (as a direct result of the poor OL play) turnovers. The five year run of AU coupled with the poor coaching of the CMS era gave the Barn something they haven't had in a long time: the confidence to know that even if they played poorly they could still pull it out in the fourth quarter. That's exactly what happened last year.

Now, for 07, the Barn may still be more talented, but with CNS, Bama will have it's confidence back and I believe that will make a big difference. Also, the Barn's confidence will not be as sure this year.

It would be foolish to predict huge, fast changes in the won/lose record, but one thing I think that will be different and untimately affect the won/lost record is the intensity, preparation, and mojo that CNS will bring back to Bama! :BigA:

I read the topic and the first post of this thread and that is it, so with that said:

Do NOT ask me for any particulars but here is my initial gut feeling about the upcoming year. We will take the West by surprise and storm and play in ATL come December. We will be playing the USC Gamecocks.

UT will have a mediocre year and Phat Phil will resign with some flimsy made-up excuse.

I will tell you more from crystal ball of football knowledge later. :BigA: :BigA: :BigA: :BigA:
