The college football season in 2010 is going to start off with not much worth watching as the best games will be, get this, North Carolina vs. LSU in the kick-off game in Atlanta and Boise vs Va. Tech (Monday). What a horrible way to display our sport with such horrible games.

Other games worth watching 20 second highlight clip on SportsCenter are..

Purdue vs. Notre Dame
Hawaii vs. USC (Thursday)
Southern Miss vs. South Carolina (Thursday)
Cincy @ Fresno (the fall of Cincy begins quickly)
Oregon St. @ TCU

However, week two is flooded with games, so many good ones that it will be impossible to watch all the games you probably want to. Unless of course you own 10 tv's.

Here's a glimpse at what we get in week 2. I'm sure most of you will be at...

Penn State @ Bama
FSU @ Oklahoma
Michigan @ ND
Ga. Tech @ Kansas
Miami @ Ohio State
TCU @ SMU (watch for upset here)
Georgia @ South Carolina
Oregon @ Tennessee
USF @ Florida

I'm a huge proponent at a national scheduling system coordinated by all conference and perhaps controlled by the NCAA as a whole. I know that teams really don't want to schedule powerhouse teams during week 1 for the obvious reasons. Maybe we should just have 1 pre-season game vs. 1-aa teams to tune up on?

Thanks for the post, def some good ones in Week 2. FSU / OU and UT / Oregon look to be great games. I'm thinking that we may be going head to head with that FSU game. Hopefully that Tenn game will be a night cap.

BIG GAMES IN RED

GT @ Kansas not so much.
TCU @ SMU not so much.
USF @ Florida not so much. :BigA:

Maybe not to you, but they do pose some intriguing matchups. USF always starts off with a bang. Not to mention we get to see what Skip Holtz does with a upgrade in talent and against new Florida QB Jeff Brantly.

Whether we agree with the national pundits, TCU will be a pre-season top 10 team and they start the season against a 5th year QB at SMU under June Jones and not to mention the rivalry factor (about 30 mins apart) this has all the right ingredients for an upset.

GT @ Kansas. I'm really curious at what Turner Gil can do at any other school not named Buffalo. It'll be also interesting to see what Tech does w/o Dwyer. Can they dominate again this season?

I think BSU at VaTech is one of the more important games in the 2010 season. If BSU gets past VaTech, IMO they go undefeated and are gift-wrapped into the BCSCG. Pollsters will be afraid of Congressional intervention if they don't tap an undefeated non-BCS team (that played one or two credible teams!) for the championship game. So, for that first week at least, IMO every BCS-conference team oughta' be a VaTech fan.

Yep; VT is definitely the team I root hardest for in that first week of any team not named Alabama.

I don't think they can beat Va Tech...they'll be so strong. Tyrod Taylor and Ryan Williams...

BSU, iirc will return 21 of 22 starters. Should be an interesting game. Please tell me it isn't being played at Boise, because I'd love to watch that game, but I can't stand looking at the blue field. It messes with my eyes.

IMO if VaTech doesn't bring their "A" game, BSU wins. TBD whether VaTech can stop BSU's attack. Likely a high-scoring game.

Correct. Game isn't in Boise. Seems like I recall the game is in FedEx Field in the DC area... or something like that. At any rate, BSU is the team that has to make the cross-country trip.

After eight months of withdrawal pains from college football, I'll be ready to watch any game. I wonder if the Bama-SJSU game will be televised?
Likely a ppv game, but then again, were any of our games ppv last year? I do recall Fla Int or whatever being broadcast poorly but I had ESPN gameplan and was out of state, so I don't know if it was PPV in state and available on game plan out of state or not. Oh well, can anybody say Sports bar!

When it comes to the first week of the season, I'll watch any game between any teams... I'm a starved dog at that point. But yeah, week two will be sick, my DVR will be busy.
