This was a shock to me.

I know that they may have not done as well as they would have liked the last few years but he really built this program up with limited resources. He upset many BCS teams in his tenure their as well as 3 bowl appearances.

Nicest guy you'd ever meet also.

I never visited a Western Michigan practice or camp without him personally coming up and chatting with me. Hope he lands somewhere that is willing to commit to him.

Ellis Johnson is the most overrated coach in CF. He was overrated as an Alabama assistant and as DC at USCe. His only claim to fame is/was he is a close personal friend with one Mike Dubose.

My wife is a Southern Miss alum and tries to keep her finger on the pulse of the program as best she can. She says that there's a lot of angry alum, fans and boosters calling for EJ's head - and with good reason. How do you take over a program and a team that finished with 12 wins the previous year and be completely winless the next?
