2014 Prospects

If UA could land Tony Brown on top of possibly Humphrey and other DBs that have already committed....wow. Still like UA's chances with Watkins and Roberts as well

Also, Hearing more & more good things on LF, Robinson, and Hootie Jones form LA, & Tony Brown is anything ,but a lock to LSU. ( Read between the lines here, it's really good for us)

I don't see Fournette happening in the end. I feel confident that Alabama can land Cam Robinson though. I'm not sure about the others.

What could Saban do if he unlimited schollys like Coach Bryant had?

Well, Bryant didn't have truly unlimited scholarships for much of his tenure, and I know your question is largely rhetorical, but I have thought about that in the past, and frankly I am not certain there would be any major change like a lot of people would probably anticipate.

The rise of the NFL and its influence on prep prospects has just changed the college game so much, and I think that would largely limit recruiting ability regardless of NCAA-imposed scholarship limits. Everyone wants to make the NFL, and a lot of kids are hesitant to flow towards an abundance of depth and signees. Obviously it's all speculative, but I tend to think a top program probably couldn't sign more than 37 or 38 kids per year even in an unlimited scenario, because at some point you just run out of kids that you really want and the downside of bloated rosters outweighs the benefits of signing marginal prospects.

Same was said about Tenpenny, karma , & Landon Collins.

Maybe Landon Collins, but the recruitment of Fournette is nowhere remotely close to that of Tenpenny or Kamara. He is absolutely the best player at his position, but not necessarily a massive need. I would love to just see Racean Thomas in the 2014 RB class.

I think you are basing your opinion on what happened to Walker (same high school). The coach interview I heard was after Walker flipped and his coach still said we were in the lead big but anything can happen.

That was several weeks ago and before Pruitt had even left Alabama. His biggest attraction to Alabama was Pruitt. That was the assistant he had the closest relationship with. That assistant-recruit relationship is also what cost Alabama Walker.

Although I will admit that both Bessent and Williams are actively recruiting Daub, and Bessent is originally from Jacksonville.

Likewise, but in recent weeks I have had the feeling that he will be a hard pull in time. It's certainly still within the realm of possibility, but I do think he is not particularly overjoyed with our abundance of depth at tailback, and I think he is very intrigued by the near guarantee of immediate playing time at Auburn and a few others. All of this might change if Scarborough ends up somewhere other than tailback, but if he sticks in the backfield, wooing Thomas could be tough.

Instate pressure & given a depth chart by every team that recruits him sounds remotely close.

Bo has said he will play what ever position. and Rock feels we are slow playing him. He wants bama ,but Saban is doing hid due diligence. Lf is more in play than a lot of you care to believe. I point you to Karma's recruitment last year, at how giving a kid the depth chart routine can really really hurt you. If I was a recruit I would be insulted that you are telling me I am not good enough to play anywhere ,but I would play insert school here.
