Has the season opener ever been a rematch of the championship game?
Here's hoping FSU is seeking revenge come September. :cool2:
No. In fact - and I'd have to look - but rematches the next year at any time are very rare. There's 2012 LSU-Alabama obviously and 1989-90 Notre Dame-Colorado. Plus there's 1973-74 Alabama-N Dame.

I'm not aware of it but I'd have to look way back. Kind of tough because of the constant changing in how the champion is determined. I'd also add 1965-66 Alabama-Nebraska.

I love this schedule & can't wait 'til we get a lil payback against The Seminoles..

This schedule has Coach Mac's fingerprints on it from his time as our OC a couple years ago..Fresno St & Colorado St both will earn that big paycheck with the thumping they'll receive from The Tide..

I wonder what the true date of the FSU Game is? The poster on the first page of this thread says September 3 but I've read two articles that said the game is on September 2.

Aside from FSU at the opening, this is the best hand Bama has been dealt in years.
Good thing Bama is extremely tough in openers during the Saban era.

Back to normal, with ut being the fifth consecutive SEC game in five consecutive weeks. Meanwhile, ut will be playing their second consecutive SEC game in two consecutive weeks after their 10/07 bye.

I've always felt very confident about opening games over the past 10 years, but I think that FSU game is the toughest opener we've played since Saban's been here. The rest of the schedule looks pretty good.
