I have a hard time with this happening. Not trying to be Ageist, but he's 59 and seems to be happy not hitting the recruiting trail!
 
If FSU wants Stoops then I guarantee it’s going to be a half a billion dollars altogether because there is no way he comes with their facilities in the shape they currently are in.
 
You really didn't think it was the other one, did you? Seriously? Why would a guy leave Zero U, to avoid terminal burn-out, only to resurface at Free Shoes U.

Especially with their crappy facilities. No, that Stoops is about as good as they will get.

Not disagreeing with you. Just saying that Stoops probably would be used to less than optimal facilities anyways... :cool2:
 
If the reports are true, then this is a good hire for FSU and a step up for Stoops. At UK he is always going to be in a fight to escape the SEC East cellar, at FSU he could actually challenge Clemson in time.
 
Regarding the rumors of Bob Stoops to FSU, he is the coach of the Dallas XFL team and I just don’t see him taking the FSU job before he ever coaches a game in the XFL. I could see him taking an NFL job at the end of the season, but I doubt he will be coaching in college again or at least coaching college within the next few years. Mark Stoops makes more sense and I think is a good move for him.

it would be interesting if true ... I'm assuming from all of the action they are looking to wrap up a coach sooner rather than later to help with the current recruiting cycle?

The FSU AD made the statement they planned on speaking with several candidates (via a search committee) but the notion of a job offer being imminent to anyone is “untrue”.

He said they hoped to have someone in place by the end of the month.

Bob is the Dallas coach. This is Mark who is at KY. I heard on the radio this morning that Herbstreit spoke to Stoops and he said it is not true. We all know from our own experience that coach's can deny initially and then end up taking the job.
