if you don’t resign some prior draft pick and they are picked up or the league gives you a pick because something adverse happened to your organization.

I believe Shy Carter and Mayden are our last players on the board and they are ranked after #175.....they are probably 6-7th round guys or UDFA's

I would be surprised if teams don’t go with either Carter or Mayden in 4, 5, or 6 of the draft...you consistently hear the NFL perspective of Alabama players, “they have been coached hard, and they go against the best talent.” Didn’t Carter start 2 years for Nick Saban? Mayden started last year. In addition to their talent, you also know you will get someone from Alabama who will be a good teammate in the locker room.

Mayden's film is a lot better - he will get drafted. Not sure about Carter. Against elite receivers, he got beat time and again.

I think you have those backwards man. Mayden is one of the worst starting DBs we’ve had in a long time. He was a consistent liability.

Maybe - my memory isn't what it used to be. But that is what I remember reading a couple of months ago. Maybe I got them reversed.

I remember Mayden playing very well against LSU and Michigan. Mayden is thicker, and was able to play SS. Doubt he has the quickness to play FS in the NFL. Carter is very slim, more a CB build. Seems like he had a great game against one of the MS teams - had a pick against UM and that makes him a star in my book. Played well at STAR, but not built to play SS or FS in the NFL.

I guess we will find out today. I hope they both get drafted, but either way both will get a shot with someone.

If Carter doesn't get picked up and his playing days are over I feel like he will be back in Tuscaloosa as a GA or something. Coach Saban seems to really like his football smarts. I seem to remember Saban talking about him last summer or fall.

Mayden is projected to go in rounds 5-7 and Shyheim may be 7th round or FA. Mayden is the better pro prospect according to the experts.
