For everyone that wants to point the finger at Liberty... The Braves right now are outspending the Yankees by 30 million dollars on the 26 man roster.... I get adding Gerrit Cole back in that puts them slightly over us, but putting Ronald back also brings us back over them. The point is that Libery spends above average for the MLB. Its really Alex's job to field a WS team. Liberty isnt that much at fault.
Also... Here is a reminder... Tampa Bay had the 26th largest payroll in the MLB out of 30. Liberty outspent Sternberg (Tampa's owner) by over 70 million dollars. The Tampa Bay rays are 35 games above .500, 5 games ahead of the Red Sox for 1st place (7 above the Yankees), and have a a +120 Run difference. So Im really struggling to see how Liberty is really at fault for the Braves struggles when the GM has the overall say on roster moves and trades.
Phillies and Mets getting the crap beat out of them.
