Never heard it, but I understand his comedy routine was very different from his clean cut TV image.
It was.

I caught it years after seeing him as Danny Tanner - and let me just say that Richard Pryor had nothing of Saget's use of profanity. The difference, of course, is that Pryor was actually funny as a comedian.

Good old wholesome Tim Allen is another one. After "Home Improvement" got big, I rented one of his standup videos. I hate to break it to folks but I could stand there and utter repeated profanities and tell stories without a linear narrative that invovled grunts and sound effects. And given the fact my pop is a retired E-9 and I was enlisted, I could probably channel a version of R Lee Ermey and make it funnier than Allen did, too.

(So many of these guys I enjoy with script writers and I see the standup and say, "He's not even funny accidentally").
