How do you mean bigger? I'm assuming higher rated? Baugh is bigger size wise and would be nice to get a bigger back..If we get Riley, losing Baugh won't sting. In all honesty, Bama didn't desperately need a RB in this class.
It's always nice to have a RB in every class, but with Jam, Justice and Young on the roster and the possibility of Roydell coming back for next season, Bama was going to be fine.
Riley is actually the bigger fish to boot!
Looks like we have been after bigger backs of late. How do you mean bigger? I'm assuming higher rated? Baugh is bigger size wise and would be nice to get a bigger back..
Yes I mean higher rated. After Lacy went elsewhere and Hill continues to be undecided, Bama made Baugh a priority. This all changed once we were able to convinced Riley to come for a OV.How do you mean bigger? I'm assuming higher rated? Baugh is bigger size wise and would be nice to get a bigger back..
After the staff determines a pecking order , there will be transfers. How many edge rushers are we trying to take? This seems like a lot. Are there gonna be transfers or something?
Overton could grow into a DT. Keon Keeley is big now and talks when he committed was, he could also play hands in the dirt as well. Russaw, Pierre are more OLB/ edge types. Renaud was recruited as an edge guy, but he could grow into a down lineman too.How many edge rushers are we trying to take? This seems like a lot. Are there gonna be transfers or something?
That`s great!!
If these guys buy in and stay healthy…and we have others as well, there is no limit.Overton could grow into a DT. Agreed. I also read and had forgotten that Overton was the #1 overall player in the 2023 class until he re-classified to 2022 where he was the #14 player. Overton will be our highest rated player to sign for '24 and that includes Sayin.Overton could grow into a DT. We probably should stock up.How many edge rushers are we trying to take? This seems like a lot. Are there gonna be transfers or something?
Welp this didn’t make me feel all that greatWe probably should stock up.
Braswell and Turner are headed to the NFL.
Behind them we have Robinson and Koht and neither of them are big enough to be 3 down guys. Both need to add 10+ pounds more than likely
3rd group was originally Alexander and Pierre. Alexander slid over to ILB at one point to see how he'd do, and he's a bit short for what we normally look for on the edge. Pierre needs to add bulk just like Robinson and Koht.
.
Other edge guys we brought in:
Campbell: moved inside.
Russaw: like Alexander, he's a bit short to play edge and I could see him moving inside
Keeley: didn't enroll early so was a bit behind the learning curve, but has the prototype measurables.
Renaud: listed as DL, but at 260 could lose a little mass and if he has the twitch could potentially slide over
Osborne: Played some edge in HS, but is now 275 so is very likely already down the path to being more of a DL for us. He'd have to drop a lot of weight to play the OLB/Edge role.
net - we only have one guy on the roster who really has the prototype we look for, who didn't see the field at all this season, then 3 guys who might be able to serve as pass rush only guys if they can't gain some mass and several who are tweaners who are likely trying to figure out where they'll fit as they don't really look like edge players. Adding a transfer makes a lot of sense, and having some others on the roster in case the ones we have don't develop as hoped is also a good idea.
Robinson will be a very solid, good edge and we will see with Koht. Adding 10 lbs for either will not be an issue. We will be young beyond that but they will be coached up and turned loose. We probably should stock up.

Possibly, but both have been in the program a long time and haven't been able to get the needed muscle on yet. Maybe this is the year, but getting an experienced edge from the portal is a good strategy.Robinson will be a very solid, good edge and we will see with Koht. Adding 10 lbs for either will not be an issue. We will be young beyond that but they will be coached up and turned loose.
We are pretty stacked at talent, just not experience. We've tried to bring in at least 2 edge rushers a class anyway. Bringing in an experienced guy from the portal is a good call just like trez Marshall at ILB. Kelley russaw and piere are legit. Just need the experienceWelp this didn’t make me feel all that great
