The coaching staff can probably get someone better from the portal, which is a proven commodity on the collegiate level. Yep. The transfer portal has somewhat devalued the HS recruit. If a coach misses on a HS recruit they now can hit the portal and more than likely get a player who is already college ready.

This is always a factor with highly rated recruits, but it is so short sighted.

Spending time developing one`s craft is, for the most part, a way out of date concept for a lot ( most? ) of today`s young athletes it appears.

They sold him on playing wide receiver over safety, our staff didn't and hasn't yet recruited him as a WR.

We will keep recruiting him so long as he takes our staffs calls, and he will, and we will see where he ends up. Not over yet.

Otoh We likley move on from Coleman and it depends on harmon, Jackson makes it a lot easier to move on there and focus on him.

Once the season starts then it will be game change mode IMHO. There should be an exciting brand of football in Tuscaloosa and barney, though should be improved, will not have the same buzz. The aubs can realistically drop 3, maybe 4 games before November.
