If he is a decent student this is not that hard, especially in today''s world with online classes, etc. I just hope he enjoys his adolescence because you never get those days back...enjoy in the proper sense...lol.
Absolutely massive if he does it. Hes Probably the best wr recruit in the last years, this years and next years class. No reason he can't play asap.
I think he should do it not because he has enough credits and so forth to qualify but he is mature enough to handle it. That last year of high school is important, you move from being a boy and set sights on manhood, valuable for everyone, especially SEC football players.
If he was my son I would tell him to remain in HS. His turn will come at the college level. Whether he is mature enough to move own is only part of the decision. Your senior year of HS can be such a special time in your life why not enjoy it.
High school doesn’t pay the bills like college does.
While that is a fact of life. Everything is not money based. The things I‘ve enjoyed most in life haven’t been dependent on the all mighty dollar.
I can't even remember anything about my senior year of high school. Just a big nothing burger. I feel like that "its such a magical time" narrative is so overblown.
My biggest regret is not realizing how unimportant high school was when I was in high school.
Socially, sure…but it sets the tone for the rest of your life. Where/if you go to college…Study habits…
Social skills (whether you use them w/the same set of people or not)…HS is huge for growth.
I disagree…It‘s actually important for many reasons. It sets the tone and trajectory of your adult life. Too many people goof off, and then end up with fewer options for a meaningful career in a field that they want to pursue…and instead, have to take a job that they end up despising.
As you grow older your options either open up or close...depends on how you perform. I've known people who overcame poor high school performance...but they were extremely talented in some way.
"Overblown " ? Man, if it wasn`t the best year of my life, it`s probably in the top two. About all I did was play ball, hunt and fish with my buddies and date my cheerleader girl friend! The funny thing is, I distinctly remember thinking right in the middle of all that, " I`m not at all sure that things can be any better than this! ".
Unless you are a 5 star receiver, the #1 player in your class, have a scholly to Bama and you have a likely future NFL career I think you are wasting your time trying to figure out what he should do about his senior year.
40 years ago, I would have said stay in school, enjoy your time, playing ball in college can wait...blah, blah, blah.
