2024 Recruiting: 2025 5* WR Ryan Williams commits

Can you summarize...it's asking me to create a free account and I don't won't to!

Does he say when he'll sign and when he'll join the team?
He's signing in Feb. He still plans to take all of his 5 OV for now, I suspect that could change.
He had nothing but great things to say about Bama, calling Tuscaloosa his 2nd home.
He's planning to join the team during the summer at the earliest.

So for you recruiting experts and those who are good at player analysis on the HS level, what are the odds he's a day 1 starter next Sept. for Bama???

I'm terrible at remembering this kind of stuff, but I know Julio was but that's a whole different era considering our depth then vs. now. Was Amari? Was Ridley? Did any of the Rydeouts?

And one more question. Talent/ability-wise, where does he compare with our current/returning guys next year?

That he'll take OVs or sign in Feb.?

I may be mistaken, but if he signs in Dec. he couldn't take OVs afterward.

Remember he's supposed to only be half way thru his Jr. year of HS. I wish he could sign in Dec. and enroll in Jan. but that's not possible.
From what I understand he’s not signing until Feb.

I'm neither of those things but ill take a shot

Starting as a freshman will be difficult, he's 16, he already skipped a year in school and is skipping his senior year now. Saban would have a lot to say about the dangers of "expectations" but he will be a lot closer to the top of the rotation than he will be to redshirting.

Julio started as a freshman and he still would today, but we also had absolutely no one at his level on our offense at the time. But he'd start over anyone.

Amari was a starter or co-starter but really didn't hit big til the end of the season when blew up. Fun fact he wasn't even our top wr in his class that was Chris black

Ridley started immediately and didn't really blow up 7ntio late, but we also didn't have a real starter at QB for 4 games and that was Derrik Henry season.

None of the Rideout started as freshman but they played a lot. And at least one of the scored a touchdown almost every week. I believe Henry ruggs had almost as many TDs as receptions. None finished very much over 400 yards. Ridley was the big dog that first season. Waddle was not a starter as a freshman but was in the top 4 or 5 rotation and played a lot

Williams is as talented a WR as we've ever had and as dominate a HS talent as the states ever seen (may say the same about Coleman fwiw) if i specifically compared jik to.one of the above guys it'd probably be smitty (similar size route running) but more of waddle elusivness and wiggle after the catch.

Nice breakdown pokechop. Interestingly enough, 247 compares Ryan to Calvin Ridley.

Since you mentioned Coleman, here are the 2023 stats for all three top WRs in Alabama:

Williams

72 rec1324 yards19 TDs

Coleman

61 rec1372 yards18 TDs

Thompson

53 rec718 yards7 TDs

I personally love Mbakwe. I think he is going to be a stud CB. His coach just loves him and he is supposed to have an amazing attitude. Ran a 10.46 100 in 2022 and a 10.56 in 2023. For perspective Henry Ruggs ran a 10.58 in high school in 7A to set the Alabama state record.
