2025 Alabama Football Schedule just released

Yeah, I'm with you on this. But the truth is if we hadn't crapped the bed we'd have played "Cakewalk Tejas" for another SEC championship this year.
Just win the ones we're supposed to, and we'll be in the hunt.
Auburn has a bye, then Mercer, then us. We’ll get a solid 3 weeks of prepping and planning by Freeze before heading to their place.
And FSU just got former Boston College QB Thomas Castellanos from the portal which is an upgrade.
So we can expect a struggle win or loss to Mercer for the barn and then a struggle win or loss against the barn for us.
I agree that we could be anywhere between 8-4 and 10-2 based on what we know now. Lot of work to do between now and August 30 in Tallahassee.
Yeah, whoever got hammered this year, (BAMA, Florida, Georgia), will have the same hammer on them next year, only in reverse.
You know FSU will not be the same dumpster fire they were this year when we face them. Norvell and the Gus bus will probably be all over the portal to try and put that fire out.
We are also open before Georgia and LSU, so that parts okay, but now it looks like we're going back to the old days where everyone had a week off to get ready for BAMA.
And this year, they moved the Oklahoma game up a week, so it's now the week after LSU. I'd love to compare this schedule to SMU's 2025 schedule.

Bama was 3-1 against the 4 open dates. of course, the Ok open date helped them greatly.
No surprises - didn’t realize 2025 was another 14 week season, which is good because it gives us the 2 open weeks.
OK, so to equalize this stuff:
1) we need to trade the Wisconsin game to SMU while we face Missouri State that same day
2) we need to trade FSU in the opener on 8/30 to Arizona State and play N Arizona instead
They've set the rules - YOUR SCHEDULE DOES NOT MATTER!!!!
And if you wanna get cute about it and play by NFL rules, they try to make the teams who made the playoffs have MORE DIFFICULT schedules the next season, so I think we should just change schedules with Boise State next year.
They play Notre Dame on October 4 next year, so that's a TOUGH GAME for Alabama in South Bend. Go beat Notre Dame, wipe the floor with the other creampuffs - and then DARE anyone to say "well, you're undefeated but you didn't play nobody!"
Drop all the big games coming up with Ohio State, etc. Zero incentive to run the risk of a loss now.

This was my premise in @KrAzY3 thread about burying the ACC - if you want equity you have to let the league set the schedule based on last year’s records, NFL style… and no playing outside your division (9 conferences) unless you schedule “preseason” games that have zero bearing on records.

They need to figure out how to schedule so no team has a bye week before playing one that does not. At least we also have open weeks before UGA and LSU.

Tough schedule? Sure. Brutal? No. People have the thing they see the schedule and make a snap judgment about it before the season gets. Sure it looks tough, does not mean it will be a tough schedule.
The Big Ten - once upon a time - had a policy/rule/whatever where they:
a) had to play ALL nonconference games before a set date
b) they ALL played conference schedule with NO BYES so nobody got an advantage
And because it was an 8-game schedule, there was always a team you "missed." For a good example, look at Iowa's 1985 schedule. They played three OOC games and missed Indiana. In 1995 - the year Northwestern shocked the world by going to the Rose Bowl - one of the talking points was that NW just HAPPENED to miss OHIO STATE in the round robin. You know, the Buckeye team that had Heisman winner Eddie George and guys like Terry Glenn, Bobby Hoying, and Orlando Pace? It was going to cost the Wildcats the impossible dream season...until John Cooper did John Cooper things and messed the bed in the finale against Michigan.
Go look at the NW schedule:
- three OOC opponents with a bye week thrown in
- 8 straight Big Ten games, no time off
- season ends 11/18
I'd love something along those lines: no byes for nobody.
