I saw where a national analyst for 247 has Derek Smith flipping to the Barn. I hope not but could happen.

BTW, I saw an interview with the Barn LB coach talking about recruiting and he said something to the effect that we want to own Alabama and we don't go to California to get our recruits. Obviously the Barn, as always, is participating in negative recruiting.

What he means is “California recruits will not come here, actually recruits from most states outside the south will not come here. We have to get recruits from somewhere.”

There’s always going to be some narrative from your rival. It would be the flip if we couldn’t recruit outside the state and they could. I do hope the coaches are able to establish some good relationships in state so we can get our fair share in the future

They would go anywhere they could to get their recruits.

Bama hasn't had to rely on solely In state players since the pre Saban era.

Im not sure why people think Saban built a dynasty just recruiting kids from in state.

Didn't get to respond before the thread closed Led.

But the list leaves off the guys who were jacks who switched to dline.

Specifically three rs freshmen
Kelly
Pierre
Russaw

They are still listed at linebacker but lined up in spring practice as defensive ends.

I may be missing a few others?

Only two of those run out of time this year, and we add Simmons and Mboumua and we likley go after one more Coleman flipping but id just as soon grab someone out of the portal, Unless we can get Terry or sharma (both might cost as much as an experienced portal addition NIL wise.

Edit:sanders should be on OL unless he has watched and I don't think thats the case

Im excited to see if he comes to the cookout tomorrow and flips again or if his Texas visit sends him there.

Notable update: it sounds like he is headed to Tuscaloosa for the cookout tomorrow? Gonna be awkward.

I mentioned him potentially flipping back because auburn was still pushing for him. As this point, he's proven to be a fickle, indecisive kid who's maturity level is very questionable.
Yep and I imagine the portal and he will be good friends if things don't go his way. He seems to have commitment issues which does not bode well for his personal life.
