Not sure how to view the flippage we are experiencing. On the one hand the team appears to be on the upward trajectory, but recruiting seems to be somewhat flat or falling. I don't know if that is just changes to the type of players DeBoer wants, DeBoer's staff getting beat in recruiting, or Alabama getting out bid for players, or all three or none of the above.

Its annoying but its happening all over this season. Its not just us. We are about to take a few players from some programs also.

We need lineman.
We have 5 in the class currently and 3 are very highly rated. Seems about right on a year over year basis. We added three from HS last year, and 4 true transfer in (not counting Proctor). If we need immediate depth, that's likely a portal-in guy versus a HS kid since it's a pretty rare HSer who is really ready to compete in the SEC as a freshmen.

How many OL are we expecting to go to the 2025 draft?
I’d expect Booker, Brailsford, and Roberts to go to the draft. I’d expect Pritchett to stay for another year since I don’t think he has played well enough to be a first or 2nd-day selection.
5* HS rookies should be able to start at the interior OL spots. Neal was a starter at OG his first year.

Booker for sure. I'm not sure if Brailsford is eligible. If he redshirted a year at Washington he is. Roberts I'm not so sure about. He's been hurt more often than not and though he is a powerful run blocker I'm not sure how he rates in pass blocking. I'd say it's not a slam dunk he will be leaving. Pritchett definitely needs another year. We might get some turnover on the depth with the new line coach seemingly preferring smaller more nimble lineman.

Brailsford is eligible, but Centers typically don't get drafted as high as other positions. Maybe he goes, but if I had to bet, I think he'll be back.

Booker is likely a 1st rounder.

Brailsford will be the top center in the draft should he choose to leave. NIL could keep him around just given that even the top center may be a 2nd round guy. Wouldnt be shocked if he entered the draft.

Pritchett could enter but will lilley benefit from a 2nd year starting.

Proctor- not eligible this year will go round 1 next year.

Roberts - should likley return but as an iol his draft stock will be limited anyway and may decide to go get paid. NIL could make the decision to return easier.

Plenty of options to portal out. But not worth speculation.

The 5 we have coming in...two have the size and talent to play year one. The other 3 will likley need a resdhirt for various reasons....but who knows.

Three of the five are now 5* so not the same in comparing most OL classes. Both our starting OT's should be back next year and hoping Brailsford sticks around. Replacing the two guards is going to be tough but Van DeMark has been a good fill in. We may go the portal route but not real heavy IMO.

I dont expect oline to be a portal priority unless we need backups or we lose a lot of young guys go transfer. (Possible but no reason to expect that)

Taylor was likely our top safety prospect so getting him is a big deal.

With sabb likley returning and bray looking as good as he has, if we return who we have we may not need to look at the portal for safety. Especially if we grab dunn or starr and can maybe convert on of the cbs to safety.
