Jackson is the Best OT in this class imo and the coaches. Carroll might be the best OL period in this class. Haywood isn't viewed as highly and not deemed must have. we will never try to win a NIL war. If this was more known in summer likely would've gone after someone else but Michigan was desperate then. KR got huge bags thrown at him btw and said no , honoring his commitment. Also, IMO the top 2 OT for 26 are the best in the last 4-5 years and both have been on campus this season.
Agreed on all that. There's no reason to offer up front money to prep school players. Can't pay him more than proctor or brailsford, roberts or even Pritchett or formby. Just to have have haywood red shirt.

So far the pay the most classes have not had the success the billionaires behind them have hoped.

UM's push will likley fall apart when or if they scapegoat moore in 2 years.

With a few exceptions (mostly wide outs), If you're gonna break the bank, do it in the portal for a proven commodity.

To add, he was not an early enrollee anyway and he does have interest in Michigan. The article I read said he and his family are big Alabama fans and they he just wants to see how the UM relationship (and $) goes. Hopefully he goes where his heart is and signs with us in February.
You know this is what I just can't understand, kid grew up a Bama fan but looking at Michigan, I get that these times it's about money, but I'm old school, I grew up a huge Bama fan and still am so if I'm offered a scholarship to Bama I'm done but not that way anymore with highschool kids

I love OSU and Alabama, but if one of my boys was offered $10MM to play for Michigan, I would drive him there and help him pack.

Michigan has two desperate billionaires facetiming high school kids and making promises without the coaching staffs consent. Nothing really to get.

Jimbo fisher would like a word with them

He'll be in the portal within two years.
That's my take. HS recruiting has changed dramatically in the portal era. More apt to pass on a HS player for immediate help from a college veteran in the portal and get a second shot at the same player after development elsewhere down the road.

last week? you sure?
Being that Haywood said that Bryce Underwood is his primary recruiter, I would say their interest has been recent. Portnoy and the Oracle twins are ruining college football. I can see underwood going to Michigan, he is a native son. But not Haywood.Unless he is bought.

Honestly not as upset about losing Haywood, as I am about teams just being able to wait until the last minute and then just offer them an insane amount of money to flip. We may need to reevaluate the concept of Early Signing Day, and structure the periods in a way to dissuade this sort of thing. Michigan didn't even really start recruiting him until last week. Absolutely ridiculous.
No sense in either being surprised or getting upset. Currently it’s simply completely unfettered minor league pro ball. Just a bunch of hired hands.

Come on, life changing money and you don’t understand that? That being hype and hypocritical at least a little isn’t it?

Any update on this?
Auburn folks do not expect starr in their class at this point. He will be signing somewhere else. From what i hear its us and vandy with bama the likley spot.

Fegans, very quiet but lots of smoke there. We are pushing, but not a done deal either way. My bet at the moment would be auburn.

RBR posted an interesting name today. Georgia DL tim griffin, who recently commited to Cincinnati, may be another flip candidate, but I'm not sure. His recruitment blew up (offers anyway) the last few weeks. Only a 3 star but can see the upside as an edge setter. Has anyone heard anything on him?

Poke, I agree that Bama will get Starr. Fegans will probably stay with the barn esp. with the history between his older brother and Bama but give him credit to even entertain our staff.
