It has to be more than 5 5*. Where did you get the number?FYI - 9 of the 32 picks in the 1st round this year were 3 stars. 1 was a 2 start and 2 were not ranked. Only 5 were 5 stars. You can win with lesser recruits if you can develop and coach them up.
Please don't respond that you need good recruits to win games. I know that.
I know Bo Nix was also.It has to be more than 5 5*. Where did you get the number?
All 3 Alabama players, who were selected, were 5* recruits.
Misunderstood the legacy part. His grandfather played for Clemson in the 60's and he seems to be pushing him to Clemson. We will see what happens.In-state IOL Mal Waldrep has us in his top 4. He is rated a 3* now but his offer list says otherwise. He is a legacy but don't remember a Waldrep at Bama.

Mal Waldrep has narrowed his list to a handful of schools, locked in official visits and set his commitment date.www.on3.com
Like our chances here and I think he will be a center candidate for us.Misunderstood the legacy part. His grandfather played for Clemson in the 60's and he seems to be pushing him to Clemson. We will see what happens.
Well I just read he is a legacy at Alabama and I read a Clemson article that said his grandfather was a Clemson player. I guess he could be both.Misunderstood the legacy part. His grandfather played for Clemson in the 60's and he seems to be pushing him to Clemson. We will see what happens.
I couldn’t find the connection either.Well I just read he is a legacy at Alabama and I read a Clemson article that said his grandfather was a Clemson player. I guess he could be both.
I got it from here. I didn't make it up.247 article about recruits & 1st round:
Where every 2024 NFL Draft first-round pick ranked as a college football recruit
Here's how each first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft rated as a high school football prospect.247sports.com
7 5*. All juniors
15 4*. Some juniors, some seniors
3* are either seniors or senior citizens, like Penix, who has started his college career in 2018 (COVID effect)
Not a single 3* junior was drafted in the 1st round.
Bottom line: ratings matter. Of course, there were some 5* busts (e.g. Brockermeyer), but not a single 3* junior was drafted, meaning that rating agencies were correct, when marked them as “projects” and some of them were late bloomers and developed into good players.
One is 247Sports and one is Rivals and they are going to differ but 247Sports is better at what they do than Rivals IMO. I would have expected the results to be more in line with what 247 reported.I got it from here. I didn't make it up.
Rivals.com: Rivals Football & Basketball Recruiting - NFL Draft: Where the first-rounders ranked in high school
Another crop of former Rivals Camp Series stars and Rivals250 prospects became NFL players on Thursday night.n.rivals.com
Debose would be a nice start to the '25 OL class.
Wow, that would be fun to have a Bo Jackson at Bama!We are in the top 3 for 4* RB and top 100 player Bo Jackson out of OH. His comments about Bama and Gillespie are very positive. Wouldn't it be nice to get this one to stick it in the face of the Barners.
The fact that Rivals had more of the guys in the first round rated as 5 star, would seem to indicate they are indeed better at rating than Rivals. One is 247Sports and one is Rivals and they are going to differ but 247Sports is better at what they do than Rivals IMO. It was the other way around. Rivals had less 5* in the first round than 247; thus, confirming that 247 has better ratingsThe fact that Rivals had more of the guys in the first round rated as 5 star, would seem to indicate they are indeed better at rating than Rivals.
you're right - my bad on the names. It was the other way around. Rivals had less 5* in the first round than 247; thus, confirming that 247 has better ratings
