Agreed, but does his upside come without a growing pain season? This kid has never faced a legit P4 defense week in and week out and can DeBoer afford an 8-4 / 7-5 season? DeBoer basically has two years left to prove himself, all depending on how next year goes. I dont think hes in a position to have a "down year" factored into his approach for next season and keep his job. If Ty transfer he better hope to hell Russell or Mack (whoever starts) don' hit a streak of "growing pains" during the season. As a fan, I'm not accepting an 8-4 season and missing the playoffs. Not when he could have brought back an 11 win QB to start.
