I definitely don't envy these coaches, they used to have to rebuild every 3/4 years, now they have to rebuild every year

2026 is shaping up to be our first portal heavy team, particularly in the trenches, and the problem I have with portal heavy teams is that they can go either way.
The NFL will start being a bigger draw for coaches, you would think

Ouch. If our best players get poached we have a problem
I'm well past the point of worrying about keeping this team together.

My main thing with the hire and what happened immediately after was this was a team that was one play away from beating the eventual national champions and playing a favorable matchup in the championship game. They were one of, if not the most talented roster with every single piece they needed in place. They had the running back of the future (Haynes), the QB of the future (Sayin), they had a defensive stalwart in Downs. The pieces were all there and I really, really wanted to see that hold and someone steer that ship to the championship they were capable of winning.

We are well past that now. Now, we have a team that lost 4 games by a combined 72 points. A lot of people complained about Lank and said it was the problem, but what ever was going on with last year's team was clearly a bigger problem. So at this point, we have a very good but very flawed team. Things need to change, you can't be like Dabo and just hold onto what you have and hope things get better.

So... I'm just not going to sweat it too much right now. Things need to change, and due to the way NIL works some of those changes will hurt. I think the defense was the strong spot on the team, I'd prefer not lose a lot there, but it is what it is. You bring in one great guy, you lose another great guy. It's how it works now, this is like trades in the pros. You just need to improve your team in the process and I certainly hope that's what''s going on.

I do wonder if eventually the NFL will start to complain about these kids that jump ship every year not being ready to play when/if they get there. That they aren’t mentally tough enough to fight and persevere through adversity. You know it has to be an issue.
Also, are these kids taking off because they aren’t on the field every down? If that’s the case do they not see that as a positive to their shelf life at the next level? I know Saban sold that RB rotation idea so his RB’s stayed fresh and could play pro ball longer.
Some actual journalist could do some investigating and do a deep dive by interviewing a bunch of kids in the portal, letting them remain anonymous, and just ask the question “Why?” Is the coach? Is it the screen time? Is it money? Are your people pushing you to get them more money? These kids admitting why they are doing what they are doing is going to be the only way to figure this out.
The whole thing is just baffling.

ACTUAL journalists are getting rare! Most out there are Click Cowboys just putting stuff out there to increase their AD Revenue...

Those articles are fairly easy to spot and usually feature something like "Fans upset by..." or [Insert School here] gets bad news" or some such generalization. It's obvious they are using AI to write their articles because the motif is the same for ll of them.😎

Sorry if this has been posted, but I've seen rumors that U$C want to throw a bag at Dijon. Any reason to be concerned?
Of course there is...

Is Dijon in the Portal? If not, there is some tampering going on and since its now the Wild West, there is no Sherriff anymore to do anything about it. 😳

The big news is that there is NO News regarding a CBA!😖

Former Alabama basketball coach Wimp Sanderson was once asked “So Coach, how many of your players are graduating?”

Wimp responded “Every one of them that wants to.”

This is just about where I am with all this portal crap. As a player, if you want to be here, great. If you want to go somewhere else because we wouldn’t kiss your proverbial ring, then “don’t let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya” on the way out the door.

I asked this the other day and nobody responded: Is APR no longer a thing? 🤔

It seems that if it were, schools would be wanting to know what the kids Academics were and how it would affect the prospective schools overall APR Score.

To lose him would suggest that we are a middle of the pack program going forward. Wish i were a billionaire, id help.

We are going to be a developmental program, with the possibility of some flashes of more success every now and then.

Think Yankees and Dodgers vs the rest of the MLB. Most of the rest of the league have no means to compete year in and year out with those two.

I live in Miami. Not many Marlins fans attend games. Tickets are cheap though.

Trying to keep up with all this is dizzying and very frustrating. Listening to JOX just now I decided to turn it off and pull up music instead. It's sad what our game has become. Someone just poke me and wake me for the season opener since the spring game is no more. That is unless I'm on the water paddling around trying to catch a smallmouth.

Sincerely,
Disgruntled CFB Fan

If you have satellite radio, Watercolors is your best friend. Been there since Nick retired.

When Vanderbilt University, known for it's high academic standards, class, and integrity, sells their soul to the devil to take a thug, (Pavia) academics don't mean a thing anymore. Is that the person that you want to be the face of your institution?
