Link: 2026 Transfer Portal

My son graduated about 8 years ago from Auburn in building and construction science. Had one football player in his class when he graduated. He swore he never saw the guy. But there he was at graduation. Everyone knew tutors and “academic support” was doing the work for him (and others).

Majority of them never physically go to class. Most are taking online courses. Which probably means someone else is actually logging for them and doing the work.
As someone that works at a college, that isn’t just athletes that is everyone. You have plenty of the students that are doing very little of the work as either someone is doing it for them or they are just using AI to do it for them. When you can just scan a picture and it gives you the answer and step by step instructions on how to solve it you don’t need to do much on your own. Especially if they get accommodations for a “learning disability”.

I can’t even follow these threads anymore much less the portal. They have absolutely DESTROYED college football for me. I used to love the offseason and following the recruiting process but this crap is INSANE. They simply have to get some help on this junk or it won’t be sustainable. I can’t even learn the players names before they are gone. Lastly, people should not even bother with saying that the player has “x amount of years of eligibility left” but rather that they have “x amount of transfers left.”

Hope they rake the kid over the coals, send him to Siberia to mine for sand for the duration of His contract.
I saw someone posting it has to do with Moore at Oregon and his decision to most likely enter the NFL draft after the playoffs. Not sure how accurate that is but it would make some sense.

How good is this guy. He was a three star ( not a definitive knock), but also he apparently barely played. Mich folks say he was not good in bowl
game which he started. Are u guys high on him? Understand just a freshman.
He is probably a depth piece more than a starter at this point but when you are losing a bunch of lineman you are going to need those type of guys too. He did bulk up a good amount though compared to when he came out as an undersized lineman.

I don't know a lot about him, but a couple things to note. First, Michigan seems very far ahead of Alabama in terms of where their offensive line play seems to be. Haynes goes there and his average goes up 1.4 yards per rush while seeing more consistent use against better competition. So even mediocre there might be an upgrade.

But, I agree with the idea he might just be a depth piece. He seems on good terms with Carrol, and in this case we're talking ON3 Freshman All-American, Freshman All-SEC so one of the few bright spots with the offensive line. If this keeps him happy, it's a sensible move even if just a depth piece.

Likely more than a depth piece. He's probably gonna compete to be our starting center. He was just a freshman this year and played sparingly, but the little tape he did put up was fairly impressive. He's a bit of an unknown, but I think the staff really likes this kid, and there are a lot of similarities to Brailsford.

He is the son of a center as well, and his dad actually played for Coach Saban at Michigan State.

I'm with you. I no longer try to learn names and just call out numbers during the game.
