I don't think we are quite as high on Sabb as we are Gayles and Sales, so it's not looking like we're going to land him, as of today. I think we're willing to pay close to the asking price for Gayles and Sales, but I don't think we're willing to pay as much for Sabb as Oregon is. It's not that we don't like him, but I think Oregon may value him a little higher. Combine that with the fact that he's not one of those guys who is just dying to play with his brothers, it's looking like we're probably not gonna win out here. Obviously, a lot could change, but that's where things stand as of today. That's all paraphrasing per Locked on Bama and BOL.Where do we stand with Sabb? I keep seeing stuff about Oregon being in the lead for him
The Locked on Bama guys said on the show this morning that we have backed off of him after his visit this weekend. I believe it was per BOL, that he will not be a part of this class. I think we wanted him as a scholarship only guy, but Georgia has made him a priority target, so he was probably looking for actual rev share money.
Jimmy Stein also said on the show that we have replaced him with Khalil Taylor on the target list. Khalil is set to visit June 19th, and actually may be the better player.

We might only have 6 seniors, but there are 38 draft eligible players on the roster of 89 from spring. A roster that could be 105. So saying they only want to sign 12 to 15 because there are only 6 seniors is disingenuous on their part and making excuses on our part. We are flat out getting beat in recruiting. Plus, Crazy to believe there won’t be any transfers out. We had what? 25 last year?Yes, but if you have been reading what DeBoer is saying we are not signing near as many as his first few classes and we are being choosy. Rodney Orr said on WJOX in Bham that he expects us to sign 12-15 players in this cycle. The reason is we have only 6 seniors and he believes we will not have a lot of attrition. Plus it makes room for transfer portal additions. As I previously said, we will not be in the top 5 this year due to those #'s but keep an eye on the average ranking we end up with.
Sounds like we have very little money outside of the NIL revenue share to spend on recruits. It looks like we are using our revenue share to hold existing players on our roster. We might only have 6 seniors, but there are 38 draft eligible players on the roster of 89 from spring. I’m seeing probably room to sign about 35- 40 in HS and transfer portal, the bulk of which should be HS talent unless you are Indiana. They seem to be one of the few that makes massive transfer portal classes work.
Of the 8 committed now, 6 are TE, RB and QB. No OL, no Safeties, No CB, no WR, 1 DL and 1 LB. If we sign 15 with a talent average of about 92, I will be surprised, shocked even. But this class is not getting it done. Stick your head in the sand and have blind faith , but we are falling behind. I’m not expecting to be top 3 this time of year , but dead last in the SEC is not good. Spin it however you want.
Gotta save some for the portal next off-season too. From what I understand, we may be looking to go all in on 2027, so I expect us to spend some money in the portal next off-season. We won't be going after the Jordan Seatons of the world (the guys that cost $4 million), but think next tier after thatSounds like we have very little money outside of the NIL revenue share to spend on recruits. It appears our past success is a disadvantage in the NIL. But realistically there are probably only half dozen schools who can and willing to spend money like drunken sailors NIL+.

I think DeBoer stole his girl in middle school, guy can do right by him.You spin it how you want but you do this every year so relax and enjoy the success. You don't see what is coming as you have not for the last two years and the fact is this is going to be a small class. Either keep up with recruiting or quit making negative comments that are not accuracte.
The Clearinghouse isn't going to stop anything. The schools will simply pay the money under the table like they used to...Gotta save some for the portal next off-season too. I'm also hearing we're willing to meet the asking price of Monshun Sales, so that's gonna take up a good chunk as well. If we land him, my understanding is that it will be the most we've ever spent on a player, but the staff is willing to spend it for him.
We just gotta let it all play out, but I promise there is a plan. I wouldn't fret too much just yet. We have the money, we're just not going to get into a bidding war for anyone, nor should we. These teams that just pay astronomical money for a single player are going to run into some problems at some point, and there's talk that a lot of these NIL deals made this past off-season by certain teams aren't gonna get past the clearinghouse. Once that happens, we may see these players begin holding out bc they're not getting the money were promised. I believe it was Courtney Morgan who mentioned a few weeks ago that the issue isn't money, a big part of it is getting it to the players, because the clearinghouse has to approve all NIL deals beyond rev share. I think a lot of schools are just promising the world and hoping for the best, but that's very risky and shady, and this staff doesn't operate that way.
4* WR Osani Gayles committing on 6/27 and we are looking good. Cali kid that is playing at IMG and we have great connections to Cali with this staff.
