We lose Sears, Nelson, Cliff and Youngblood.

New Recruits: Hannah (6'5" SG), Jemison (6'8" PF) and Allen (6'7" SF)

Potential Returnees: Wrightsell, Philon, Holloway, Mallette, Cunningham, Reid, Mo, Stevenson and Sherrell.

Who did I miss?

We know there are guys we'll consider in the portal that may impact some of these returning.

We may have one or two that could test the draft waters.

We may have one or two that transfer/portal out.

So, what's the early speculation on adds and subtractions? If you are CNS what do you want more of OR less of???

We also lose our only walk-on.

I think we should part ways with Stevenson. Of course, I'm not his coach like CNO is. I think CNO likes him a lot and Stevenson shunned UNC to play for Oats early, as he reclassified.

I think we all thought his flirtation with the draft indicated he might just explode on what should have been his true freshman year this season. But that didn't happen!

My issue is two fold: With his size he should be able to finish at the rim a lot more than he does. Secondly, his stroke is not too bad but he gets nothing but bad misses most of the time.

And he seems to play off balance more than within himself.

Bottom line, he hasn't produced and I'd like to see the spot open up to another big bodied 4 who perhaps helps more with scoring and rebounding.

I think Trelly and Mallette come back… though I’m hesitant to want to depend on two guys coming off leg injuries. Think Cunningham transfers since he redshirted. Philon goes pro, and Reid returns. Think Mo and Sherrill are locks to return. The two on the roster I wonder about are Holloway and Stephenson. Stephenson has defensive skills that are unique, but offensively he’s not made the progress needed. Holloway’s issue is his size - he give opposing teams an automatic mismatch and he needs to score at a higher clip going forward to offset that imo.

Why jump to Cunningham leaving just because a redshirt?

My best guess
Locks to be here next year
1. Mo
2. Holloway
3. Sherrill
4. Mallette
5. Cunningham (he would have entered portal already if he wanted to leave imo)
6. Hannah
7. Jemison
8. Allen
9. Wrightsell

Guys that will test draft or transfer
1. Philon depends on what Nil he gets vs 1st round money
2. Reid i think he stays
3. Stevenson I think he transfers out or tries to go g league

I think that allows us for 3-4 transfers depending on Philon

Noah Williamson, 7 ft center in the transfer portal from Bucknell is/was on campus to visit with Oats and staff when they returned from New Jersey after the Duke loss.
Williamson is garnering a lot of attention

Reasonable guesses IMO.

Concerning Reid, in the preseason, the talk was he might be a one and done, but injuries derailed him blowing up.

I don't think we've seen the player he can be, so I hope he returns and has a healthy year. I think he can really be a productive 3/4 player for us.

Concerning Philon, I could see him making the NBA jump. He's got great size for a PG. It would be a big loss for us. We need that kind of size in the guard position. I hope he can get an NIL deal that keeps him around. If he stays and can improve his 3 point shooting (which is basically his only weakness IMO) he could be a lottery pick next year!

I watched his video. Perfect fit fo CNO's system. This would be a HUGE pickup IMO!

Didn't Trelly say his decision was "up in the air" back during the tournament? I kinda feel the same way you do about him..
I'm not sure how it would work for him to try to go into the draft or even the developmental league.

How do professional teams view a guy with his injury record?

He's just had terrible injury luck. I'd love to see him have a full year of solid, healthy play. We know what we have in him. Instant offense!

I HOPE he comes back only for a final season of playing basketball. Like you said, I don't think he goes professional at any level. Simply for the risk of injury.

Not sure I've ever seen a more consistent shooter from 3, the guy is unreal.
